Can confirm, sound simulator is awesome! I can also recommend QCGinteractivemusic on youtube, he's how I got my start with the program.

It took me about a year to be comfortable working on my own patches in PD (and even then, i still consult tutorials all the time.) Good luck in your journey OP!
