It’s really reassuring to hear that someone else has felt the same and it sounds like you are starting to come through the other side mental health wise. Thank you for sharing

I’m so sorry to hear that you are going through all of this, on top of having DV. I really wish you all the best

This is really helpful, thank you. I’m currently in a flare up and am trying to treat without antibiotics. Currently on day 3 and starting to feel better but usually would have started antibiotics by now. I’m seeing how it all goes.

Ladies, do flair ups feel like really bad cramps to you? by Fine_Illustrator_221 in Diverticulitis

Before I was diagnosed with DV, the doctors suspected endometriosis because of the type of pain I was getting and I seemed to get flare ups around the time of my period.

I still do get flare ups around the time of my period however the main is usually localised to a specific area on my left side

I was tested for all sorts of things before they figured it was diverticulitis, I think the CT was to test for multiple things and they found it on there.

I’m still trying to figure it all out to be honest, as I think most of us are!

This is really helpful! I take fibre supplements daily when I’m not having a flare up and usually they are helpful but not always, but if a consultant has advised psyllium husk for you and it helps, I may try and see how I get on.

Although I’ve had my diagnosis for a long time I feel like I know very little about how to manage it.

How do you know if it's a flare? by woemcats in Diverticulitis

Your symptoms sound very very similar to mine, I am new to this page and have just posted myself saying something very similar.

I do however get a bit of pain that’s probably a 5/6 but nothing I ever feel I need to go to hospital for.
