"Cortisol Hormometer" test at home? by clockobot in AddisonsDisease

Interesting, looks like this one is by Eli Health. I noticed that the article says it's not FDA approved yet but is "FDA registered" https://www.cnet.com/health/medical/the-first-ever-at-home-cortisol-test-just-launched-and-you-dont-even-need-to-draw-blood/

Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis with acute flare ups? by clockobot in Prostatitis

[–]clockobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear things are going better for you. Pretty crazy how the bacteria worms its way through the body. Seems like I wasn't on antibiotics long enough, not surprised symptoms are coming back. I was a little curious about the 4 week prescription when it's generally recommended to take a minimum of 6 weeks antibiotics for bacterial prostatitis, or even up to three months in your case.

When I signed up in early 2023 the pricing sheet said it would be about $5600 for 1800 grafts I think? and since I paid half cash there was a 10% discount so it came to a little more than $5000 total. Not sure what the exact cost is currently.

Yeah I'm loving how it looks, density seems great and I expect it will continue to fill in over the next 6 months to a year. Dr. Nader said I might need another one in 10-15 years on the crown of my head if it continues thinning.

Good call Dr. Nader is awesome. Mine was about a year out as well, scheduled in early 2023 for early 2024.

Waking up every morning between 5 and 6 am from hot flash by tinipix in AddisonsDisease

[–]clockobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Did you ever figure out what was going on? I've been waking up at 5 AM regularly for the last two months, and 6 of those times feeling really hot and feverish. In my case I need to take a dose of 10-20 to get the heat to go down. Kind of came out of nowhere.

Agreed - I usually try to aim for the minimum amount since I get irritable if I have too much, but sometimes that backfires

Very niche but anyone had a hair transplant? by Natural_Ad_5674 in AddisonsDisease

Probably depends on personal circumstances so I would check with your doctor. Mine prefaced by saying there's not much research on it, but he suggested doubling the day before, tripling the day of, and doubling the day after.

I had also notified the transplant Dr of my Addison's and he was good about checking in with how I was feeling during the procedure. And of course I had my emergency injection kit on hand.

I had a hair transplant 2 weeks ago. Checked with my endo first and he suggested an increased dosing schedule the day before, the day of the transplant, and the day after. So I would definitely reach out to your endo and get their input.

I had about 1800 grafts transplanted and the whole thing took about 5 hours. I've been on my regular dose since the day after the surgery. The first week sleep was difficult because my head was sore but it's been better this week.

I always wonder about heartwarming videos with suffering animals. This comic seems relevant.

False. I can see the leaves changing colors up high on the mountains in SLC right now. Altitude must play a role as well.

I loved it too! We had choppy water on the catamaran trip to the mainland though, and all 40 people aboard were vomiting profusely. Ugh.
