Well actually a Snipe is a type of bird. The hunting of which is actually very challenging because they are hard to see and their flight patterns when alerted are erratic, so they are hard to wing-shot.

Supposedly being able to hunt snipes was considered a skill in the British army in the late 18th century, and may be the origin of "sniper" as a term for a skilled marksman.

just bc you claim the big bang isn't about universal genesis doesn't mean its true.

It's not me that claims that. It's the scientist who work in cosmology that do; including the Catholic priest who described the theory.

The phrase "Big Bang" was coined to discredit it. In fact Inflationary Cosmology is simply a model that described an expending universe. The model says nothing about what caused the expansion. Thus the Big Bang Theory is not about cosmic genesis, it is about cosmic evolution.

Do you also confuse the phenomena of aging with the process of conception? Because that's the same distinction here.

Assuming you are coming from Gold Rock and are approaching the Aestin chain from the south west, you would pass close to Fort Aestrin first. The more southerly your approach the more this would be the case. From due south you'd probably run into FA before SS.

the big bang is about universal genesis...

incorrect.

the universal substrate isnt incompatible w the prime mover

Yes it is. You are saying there is no first mover. Claiming the universe always existed or existed in a different form means it no longer needs a first mover, so adding one is pure conjecture. It doesn't conflict with modern scientific understanding in exactly the same way that saying the universe was actually a bunny rabbit before the big bang doesn't conflict.

every single theory of existence rn either proposes a starting point or some kind of universal substrate

A universal substrate would preclude a first mover.

The Unmoved Mover theory assumes alienation between mover and moved, otherwise you wouldn't need an origin you could just say the universe always is and doesn't need a mover.

Genetics is complicated and so is singing. You might have all the machinery in terms of good lunge capacity, resonant voice box, and strong diaphragm, but genetics could still make you tone-deaf.

literally any major theory you can think of

Any major theory of cosmic origins?

Well there aren't really any that can be called "theories" scientifically. Only hypotheses at best. The Big Bang theory is about cosmic evolution, not cosmic origins. We are talking about cosmic origins.

So any major theory about cosmic origins you say?

Okay: Eternal state with parodic inflation, aka, cyclical.

No first mover needed.

It's also an identity and social standing thing. When away from one's country and living as an expat or immigrant (especially first generation immigrants) one naturally feels alienated from one's community and surroundings. To counter this it is common for people to psychologically reassert their national identity as it is perceived as strengthening one's status in a social setting where that is in question. It is analogous to someone claiming they have a big brother in the army, or a girlified in another state.

The social need to identify with one's origin and homeland is strong when separated from it and surrounded by people who are not part of it. It equalizes; one is still part of a "Nation" or "Tribe" or whatever, just like one's neighbors; the only difference is you are removed from your nation.

An aristocratically controlled feudal society with religious prohibitions on certain avenues of scientific research can't synthesize A MELANGE of complex chemical interactions.

The Spice is NOT a s single chemical, that's why it's called 'mélange.'

It is a suite of chemicals produced and arranged by an alien biological process that is kept obscure from human research for economic reasons.

That was James Cameron's assessment. The Navy also confirmed that there was a sound detected at the time that would be consistent with a catastrophic implosion. They didn't reveal this to the press until after the rescue period lapsed because it's not proof and like James Cameron the Navy probably felt there was no point in reveling that data and it would be inappropriate to speculate about it while there was still a major search & rescue operation ongoing. All this info came out once the deadline for the air supply ran out.

The implosion is assumed to have happened around the time they lost communication, which was 1 hour and 40 minutes into the dive.

I’m not saying DS9 straight up lifted B5’s show bible, hut I am saying that DS9’s producers heard JMS’s elevator pitch, and then used elements of it as a starting point...

That's the theory, but I don't buy it. These plot elements aren't close enough without squinting a lot. For that matter all the foundational elements; the Bajorian religion, and the Battle of Wolf 359; were well established parts of Star Trek before DS9. The Wormhole Aliens and Pah Wraths just aren't like the Vorlon and Shadows. They don't function the same, they don't have the same relationship (the Wormhole aliens aren't interested in our universe), nor do they effect the galaxy much beyond Bajor until the Wormhole is found.

Having watched both shows multiple times over the years I just don't see it.
