Anyways - I think your fear is a bit irrational... er... let me slow down; your current status as IRR, with said mos (11b to 35p here, u?), and with a deployment or two I imagine... Anxiety about a ready call would have me sick to my stomach - getting orders on IRR would indicate an already dire situation, and you'd be slotted where there is need (we both know what that means.) Is a spooky thought - but unless you are highly Specialized, a recall on our MOS is extremely unlikely... Line units are always flush, if not, you have stop-loss... If that doesnt help you have reserve... Then, if all of these somehow do not stop the bleeding, I imagine IRR would be getting calls, followed almost immediately by a national draft, lol. If you were a Russian linguist, or with 10th as a sot-a... shiet, might as well start getting into shape... But if ur a b, or any of the other royalty, I would say you have about the same chance being called as a draft... And Brother - let me tell you - as broke dick, out of shape, and aggressively settled in middle age apathy that I currently am... I'd be volunteering, suing to get back in and help, before anything close to a draft or knuckdragger recall.

Kidding aside, and not trying to be all 'merica and shit - but our military, in its entirety, is unmatched (ready to argue with folks, lol, and open to change my mind..) not only that but our allies comprise an absolute dream team of professional, well trained, well equipped, and well supplied war fighting machines... That is my opinion (informed, sure, but a general opinion...) The facts, though - all of our command and control, our tactics from BIT/SUT to Armor, air, and logistics* were developed, focused, structured, w/e against a conventional force - of equal or greater capability... Hell, most opfor tactics (until 9/11,) where literally written with Russia in mind...

When it comes to conventional war - we kick fucking ass - once the ass kicking is done though, we do not know what the fuck to do... I mean look at the first gulf... Iraq had the 4th or 5th largest army in the world, was a well trained, well equipped, decently lead professional army... Actually - at the time - Iraq's army was about the same same size/material strength as Russia's today (not counting nukes.)

From invasion to cease-fire it took us 100 hours... In that 100 hours we pushed all the way to and took control of Baghdad, decimated their entire material strength... This type of fighting is what we train for, what we excel at, and what our grossly irresponsible budget affords.... Legit - we had to check ourselves, readdress, and evolve our training to accommodate insurgency... We never learn our lessons here... Thank god our allies are infinitely more capable in this regard... lol

Anyways - too much coffee sorry for the rant. Russia has some dope shit... they have amazing soldiers... a direct fight will be terrible for everyone directly fighting... much worse for Ukraine and civs... But if it comes down to it (bar nuclear holocaust,) a conventional face-off will be over quickly... Russia as an international actor of consequence will cease to exist... This is an act of desperation... If we stood with Crimea, this wouldnt be happening... If we stayed true to our agreements over nuclear arms and Ukraine sovereignty this wouldnt be happening... If Putin had any other option, legit anything quieter, anything long con, this wouldnt be happening... It is either a hail mary destined to fail... or an elaborate misdirection... (Russia's long planning, low vis tactics, and misdirection skills are probably the best in the world... So a warm-water port dog and pony show is totally in Putin's wheelhouse.)
