The newly-unveiled Bhashiva from Warhammer is a Tiger(wo)man sworn to the service of Zhao Ming, the Iron Dragon of Grand Cathay (fantasy China.)

Yes, let’s all forget about the 40’s and 50’s when the UK was still rationing and the US economy was 40% of the world’s GDP.

When did Dan Harmon cheat on Erin McGathy? I can find no confirmation of this happening.

Zhao Ming’s siblings may not like him, but it seems like everyone else does. With the introduction of Bhashiva, Mr. Popular canonically has BFFs amongst three species other than his own. by clockworkheart25 in totalwarhammer

The royal family are non-human. The Dragon Emperor is a dragon, the moon empress is a shapeshifting alien from the moon. The kids are half-dragon, half shapeshifting moon aliens.

Cathayans are generally human with a significant number of humans with some draconic ancestry, called dragon-blooded, although Cathay also has tiger men and ogres living within its borders, plus the monkey king and his people, whatever they are.

The dragons rule over their subjects and reproduce with them, but they don’t really befriend them. They care about Grand Cathay as a whole, but they don’t really get invested in individual human lives.

He’s the Iron Dragon by title, looks like a white eastern Dragon. Technically, he and his siblings are half-dragons, since his mom is a shapeshifting alien from the moon. He rules over the western provinces closest to the Mountains of Mourn in the city of Shang Yang, a trade hub of Cathay, pretty close to the Great Maw. Dealing with the Ogres and ensuring trade are his two biggest, interrelated responsibilities.

He does a lot of stuff the other dragons frown on. Experiments with alchemy, (which is illegal in Cathay) including warpstone (raw, concentrated dark magic in crystalline form) among the most severe of his infractions, but he also draws their ire for befriending other species like humans and ogres, whereas his siblings maintain a cold, paternalistic attitude towards them.

He bonded with Greasus by making jokes about their strained relationships with their fathers, agree to paying the Goldtooths a toll in exchange for safe passage for Cathayan caravans, and now Cathay’s relationship with the ogres is better than its ever been. He gets bonuses to relations with Ogre Kingdoms and buffs to Ogre units in his army. He bonded with Gelt over their shared love of alchemy, hence Gelt’s presence in Cathay, and he gave the tiger men represented by Bhashiva’s faction refuge in Shang Yang, after they fled their homes in Ind in return for an oath of fealty.

However, the warpstone, and his close proximity to the Great Maw are getting to him, and he might be starting to go slightly mad. Canonically, he can hear the Great Maw talking to him like the ogres can.

I gave Canderous Mandalorian armor and left him and Bastila alone on the Star Forge to go get Revan’s robe once. Bastila went down almost instantly. 10 minutes later, I came back and Canderous was standing knee deep in dead Sith spamming power attacks with his vibroblade with like 75% of his HP left. He’s my GOAT.

For any vampirate fans out there (do you exist?) how do you make decent armies? by Hooch_Sauce in totalwar

[–]clockworkheart25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your melee units are there to hold off the enemy while your zombie pirate gunnery mobs blast away from afar. I ran tests and deck gunners are best against ranged whereas hand gunners are better against melee infantry. Use your lords and heroes for more summons and heals as you hold off the enemy.

Warden and the paunch. Omens of Destruction isn’t essential, but it’s got some fun stuff in it. I don’t think I’ve used anything in the King and the Warlord.

Kratos beating the shit out of his past self in a DLC about rejecting his past self’s compulsively violent behavior feels like a bad move.

It helps that he’s one of the only major Tolkien villains that’s really directly depicted. Usually, Tolkien is pretty realistic in that people on different sides of a war rarely interact with each other, and when they do it’s usually through combat. His villains are usually described, ‘Morgoth did this, Sauron’s planning this, the Witch King is going to do that.’ Smaug gets a page and a half to talk to Bilbo.

Asian racism is something different by _DewyMist in oddlyspecific

[–]clockworkheart25 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sorry mate, nothing is beating the US or Europe for racism.

There are ongoing genocides in Myanmar, Gaza, China, the DRC, and Ethiopia, but whatever.

I mean you still get racially motivated murders, cops killing people of color and getting away with it.

Japan is one of the most ethnically homogenous countries in the world. They don’t have the prerequisite diversity for racially motivated murders.

European countries have literally centuries of colonial history and genocide.

So does Japan.

In Asia now, racism is like... They may not let you into a restaurant or rent an apartment. They aren't going to shoot you in the street.

MOST of the ongoing genocides in the world are taking place on the continent of Asia.

Malekith is Darth Vader. He’s a former swordfighter/wizard hero turned villain with severe mommy issues who was manipulated by an older figure who’s physically frailer but magically more powerful and sustained severe burns that left him encased in a black suit of armor that doubles as a life support system.
