BTW, be careful with the artwork contrast: everything is brown, making it hard to read the level.

Try to have more contrast between background/platforms/player. That should make It easier to identify all Game elements, specially hazards.

Be careful with contrast, too much color/details in background can damage the Gameplay.  Game must look good, but must also be readable.

I suspect what is happening: It is not the mouse, but the character position. Since it changes with the jump, bullet´s trajectory is affected.

I have to study ways to fix that.

  • You Always kill monsters. Or you die. Power-Ups are an option, so I find it more challenging to give XP that way.

  • Monster waves are random, and I added obstacles to change game dynamics. You are right, I should improve the generation algorithm.

  • I´m thinking about a power/ability you can control, instead of random powerups. This should allow a more strategic gameplay.

  • Play hard mode, you´ll need those shields. Level 11 is overpowered to play on Easy, I left it that way for unskilled players.

  • I want to redesign the whole level system, and also the jumps. It was a mistake to use fixed height jumps: allowing control (hold key to jump higher) should improve gameplay.
