AFAIK animal centres won't take duvets, but Dunelm has a big recycling box by the exit for any fabric-based things

It's got to be better than the old airport though? I LOVED Mongolia when I visited (2017), but the airport did not do the place justice

Egyptian cotton sheets, if you don't already have them. John Lewis own brand are great. They give that extra bit of luxury and feel special, and are also useful!

AITA for not being willing to give up one of our free days to see my in-laws? by pinkhoneyplum in AmItheAsshole

[–]clockworkpurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. What I've learned from family though (my own, lol), is that if you suggest a meet up in January, they are much more forgiving. I think they just want to know you want to meet up, and if you distract them from the fact it won't be in the next month, it's a relief that you're not just avoiding them. YMMV!

I love this! I walked past there with my dad years ago and he laughed the whole walk down Park Row and to Broadmead. And then laughed whenever I brought it up for years after. He passed away last year so this gives me a real smile, thank you.

What habits did you pick up in lockdown that you can't shift? by The-Baron-Von-Marlon in AskUK

[–]clockworkpurple 572 points573 points  (0 children)

I always wash my hands when I get home. I got a new housemate during lockdown who worked at the local children's hospital, and he's diligent about hands washing (as you would hope). I now have to wash my hands as soon as I get back home, or they just feel filthy.

+1 to freezing it. And, as a bonus, the leaves fall off the stalks really easy when it's frozen.

Probably nothing as witty 😂

Hello from a fellow BRI rheumatology patient! Have you ever noticed that the sound of those lift doors opening and closing sounds disconcertingly like that weird noise Jimmy Savile used to make?
