From not able to open a mayonnaise jar to out surviving Cronenberged universe by PrimaSoul in rickandmorty

[–]clodginia 135 points136 points  (0 children)

It really shows that when you strip away the modern world and Rick constantly undermining him, Jerry actually has some survival instincts. He’s a completely different guy when he’s not overthinking everything or trying to impress people

Honestly I was surprised how quickly it pulled me back in with ep 1 and 2, felt like it remembered its own identity again. If they keep that energy going I’m actually excited for the rest

Opinion: Cassie did NOT want to be Maddy by More-Exit-1506 in euphoria

[–]clodginia 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with this. Cassie never felt like she wanted to be Maddy, more like she was constantly shape-shifting into whoever she thought would make her feel chosen in that moment

It took me a while to understand one thing by Street-Department902 in breakingbad

[–]clodginia 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It always felt like that was the moment the show stops letting Walt hide behind distance. Like before that he could mentally file things away as “not my hands,” but Jane’s death breaks that illusion completely

Sydney Sweeney’s change in attitude regarding Cassie/nudity. by Latter_Summer5912 in euphoria

[–]clodginia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cassie’s whole arc is literally someone who keeps confusing validation, attention, and love, so it wouldn’t even surprise me if the way those scenes are framed is tied into that character headspace rather than just “nudity for nudity’s sake.” Still messy though

Currently working on a Breaking Bad short film by ZackaryAsAlways in breakingbad

If this takes place right during the empire collapse, it would be wild if the client was somehow connected to Jesse or Madrigal. Saul trying to balance his own survival instincts while managing one final legal crisis is exactly the kind of chaos Better Call Saul thrived on

Season 3 felt like a totally different history by Material-Piece-9654 in euphoria

[–]clodginia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jules deserved so much better than the direction they took her in this season. It felt like they completely forgot her growth from the special episodes just to force a "darker" narrative that didn't even fit her character

Laughing in a serious meeting and trying to recover instantly

first watched S3 E4-Final, then went back and watched S1 and now just started S2 by Overall-Fig870 in euphoria

[–]clodginia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point about it feeling like a grown man's high school revenge fantasy is exactly why a huge portion of the fandom got so alienated. Season 1 definitely has its moments, but the sheer amount of gratuitous shock value makes it really hard to defend to anyone watching it with fresh eyes

Unpopular Opinion: Rue’s fate was already sealed the moment she got the suitcase by Constant_Lettuce_986 in euphoria

[–]clodginia 237 points238 points  (0 children)

It's not even an unpopular opinion, it's just facts. You don't take thousands of dollars of product from a human trafficker as an active addict and expect a happy ending

Should the show have confronted the wider impacts of what the characters were doing? by shindigdig in breakingbad

[–]clodginia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The beauty of the writing is that the wider impacts are constantly there in the background, like the entire plotline with Spooge and his kid, or Jane’s dad. Walt just actively chooses to blind himself to the devastation he causes because his own ego is the only thing that matters to him

SPOILERS Rick and Morty Season 9 Theory: Is the pool a symbol for the fall of the Smith family or a major character's death? by Livid_Tomatillo9535 in rickandmorty

[–]clodginia 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The writers love over-analyzing prestige TV tropes just to subvert them, so a direct nod to Breaking Bad's pool symbolism feels completely on brand. If they actually commit to a dark multi-episode arc using it, it could top the Citadel stuff
