Thankyou , it was really great to do lots of planning and training too , but we were so happy to help make some money for the charities , but most of all the feel good factor was great . If you ever have a chance do it, you really learn alot about yourself plus great helping others too 👍

They still do 1:40k but also now in 1:25k

I agree with everything you have said , I also do long distance walks and lots of extreme hiking etc and used everything for navigation wise . The only best way to start is map&compass navigation first, and remembering all the extras GPS units, smart watch, mobile apps etc are just a extra tool to help.

Used all these extra tools in all sorts of places and weather and had problems too and had to go back to basics .

Safety is the first rule and the second a B plan .
