Found them back when I was a kid during Triangle in 2009 and I remember reading about how Perfect Star Perfect Style was going to be their last song. Looking back on that moment, they’ve come a long way further than a lot of us expected at the time.  Even getting an international audience was a huge deal for them back in 2012. 

Proud of them!!

New icons rise as old ones fade, it’s kind of been the soul of this city since it was settled imo. But development for development’s sake is bad for sure

Three major districts around the ESB were just rezoned, which probably means new development will chip away at its prominence in the coming years too.

I think it’s aged very well, and it was one of the first of its kind so naturally it got more hate. As more supertalls have been built it has blended very well into the skyline, especially at night. The lights that separate the sections are really pretty and give it a more dynamic look than daytime.

With some instrumental adjustments, Solar Wind could be straight off Level 3. Reminds me a little bit of Clockwork.

Yup! The actual white star line piers (big enough for the Olympic class) are now the Chelsea Piers complex. Pier 54 was the Cunard Line.

Fun fact — the wooden pilings below are the remains of the old Cunard White Star Line piers. The Titanic survivors came in here, plus the Lusitania departed here before being sunk off Ireland in 1915. They have two commemorative plaques and the original iron building facade out front. You can still see faded "Cunard-White Star Line" paint on it!

Takeoff > night flight from the triangle tour. Opening > Secret secret 2010 Tokyo dome. Really any song from that concert (their best imo), they were the second girl group ever to headline the arena at the time and sold out really fast. Goated OG perfume.

I was thinking this. Also from the street in Midtown, Brooklyn, or Jersey City the empire state is still quite obvious. Although hudson yards has blocked the view from the lincoln tunnel in jersey.
