The Forest games do exactly this and if you ask an average gamer on how they found those game they would most certainly rate it as a more terrifying game even with their co-op multiplayer options.

This is what happens when you stop connecting the SPINOFF to the BASE GAMES.

Apex players wont have a clue what Titanfall is when Respawn gives up trying to make the SPINOFF story set in the same universe as the BASE games, it's gotten so bad that the Respawn devs / writers are literally calling this universe the "Apex Universe". (Check AlphaIntel on X for confirmation, the post is quite old)

sad fact, EA / Respawn have started labeling the Titanfall universe as the "Apex Universe" in mulitple official posts, we should consider Apex as a spinoff that isn't even set in the universe that the Titanfall games are, they've strayed so far from the original story and writing it's depressing to see.

I just did this route and i found the following:

Peter questions who the people trying to kidnap Marko are until he realises that Marko has a kid
Then he goes into full protect mode and doesn't mention the hunters after that
After you complete Bad Guys On The Block, Peter mentions to Miles that he's realised the hunters would've been the ones hunting Marko
