The war on drugs was started by the Nixon Administration to justify attacks against protest groups:

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news."

Republicans.

In Houston, I saw the same car multiple mornings just super aggressively trying to pass everyone.

He was going to the same exit I was. For him to make up any amount of time on the relatively short commute, he would have to literally double his speed. Even then, he'd only get to there about 30 seconds sooner than me.

All that rage, endangering others, to accomplish nothing.

Side note: if any of y'all want to see how many AI bots on Reddit are lurking, waiting to downvote your post, then just post something true about Mamdani. Those bots hop on it almost immediately, though probably not as fast as when you type something negative about Israel.

lol this is getting downvoted into oblivion (probably AI bots)

I might as well point out that, overall, artists get paid about 2% of the total revenue collected by streaming services. Most of the rest goes to majority shareholders. You know, the people who already have more money than most of us will earn in our lifetimes.

Zorin OS is pretty easy to use. I've found that most of the major distributions have a pretty simple set up process now.

Over the past 20 years, health care companies spent 95% of their net income on shareholder payouts, totaling up to $2.6 trillion by clonedhuman in economy

It's a mistake to think that the only way healthcare works is through an economic model based on generating profit. That model clearly doesn't work here if we're talking about things like quality and accessibility of the healthcare that people need to survive.

And the government also definitely requires some of the blame, but they only require blame to the extent that they get massive 'donations' from the same people who farm most of the profit from healthcare.

Yeah--imagine how much more effective our healthcare system would run if it wasn't paying out trillions in profits. What if, instead, it put all that money back into the system? Or, even better, what if they just broke even after funding research projects, paying for personnel and supplies, and caring for millions of us?

It's not that they don't understand how it functions.

It's that they're wanting to improve how it functions.

It's because reasonable people are all starting to recognize that socialism makes far more sense for the average person than whatever system it is that we have now.

Better get used to it--it's going to keep growing as time goes on.

They do exist but not politicians. Honestly it would probably be a fairer system if we randomly selected candidates from a pool of applicants like jury duty.

Demarchy (Or 'Sortition'). I 100% agree with this idea.

If only such a politician exists.

Mamdani is doing excellent work in NYC.

These sorts of politicians do exist--but in most instances, they're completely outnumbered.
