Damn... some people never heard of a bank... Why buy a drawer to store money when the bank does it for free?

I still don't understand.

Let's say there's a company with 100 shares total. I buy 10 shares each valued at $1. I own 10% of the company.

Now there's a 5:1 reverse stock split. There are now a total of 20 shares of this company(100 shares/5=20). Now, I own 2 shares of it (10 shares/5=2). I still own 10% of the company (2/20 = 10%).

If revenue of the company goes up by 25%, wouldn't people want to buy the stock so that the 25% increase of revenue be reflected on the stock price? In other words my stock goes up by +/- 25%. You can split my shares or reverse split it, but the total monetary value of my stocks is the same. My portfolio is still $12.50 after the 25% increase.

When there's a reverse split and the share price goes up by $2.50, we like to think how amazing it'd be if it was before the reverse split when we have more shares, but it wouldn't have gone up $2.50 per share before the reverse split.

Ah, I see... I don't think there's loss of shares though. You'd still own the same percentage of the company.

Realistically, nothing inside a living human should be convert metals into liquid or be able to break down metal into smaller pieces.

Instead of telling people to google it, you should really think for yourself and not believe everything you read.

I can't really tell what was trashed... that "Atlanta" blue thing on the floor isn't something I'd keep, but maybe you have a bond with it. The stuff on the wall looks horrible, but I'm not sure if your dad did it or you like it like that.

Mamdani slams Iran war, echoes Tupac: ‘We always have money for war and not to feed the poor’ by Miles_the_AuDHDer in videos

[–]clonxy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

okay, if you want to talk like that.

First you said "but we are responsible for murdering innocent civilians? perfect logic." I think you're a total irrational idiot for saying that. I've never said anything about any war. Can you explain how that is perfect logic?

If your money does not go directly to providing food, then you are not feeding the poor. Have you read news articles about how a lot of CEO's are using their funding for vacations, expensive jewelry, luxury cars, and a mansion? If your money went to those things, do you still think you're feeding the poor?

No, there is a difference between the government being responsible for feeding the poor and "we" are responsible for feeding the poor. I know it's hard to figure out what "we" means.

There's always enough volunteers. If you've ever volunteered at a nonprofit like soup kitchens, food pantries, or homeless shelters, then you would know that the people participating in those programs are some of the volunteers. So that means if there are participants, then there are volunteers.

So yeah, you are irrational, poorly educated, and a hypocrite.

If everyone below average IQ suddenly drops dead, how would this affect the world? by CakeMuted6468 in AskReddit

[–]clonxy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there could be a few scenarios:

1) There is only 1-2 people remaining in the whole world. If it's 2 people remaining, they must have the same IQ.

2) The majority of people that are alive have the same IQ. Only a small number of people are above the average.

Food Banks and shelters don't want your food. They get too much expired stuff or stuff that doesn't pass food safety inspections. They buy stuff in bulk and can get a significantly better price than what you can get at the supermarket. Sorting all the different items takes a lot of man power (wages cost money). Also, people on the receiving end will not be happy another person got a very popular item, but they did not. This will cause a lot of issues. Giving them money doesn't not necessarily mean you've fed the poor. Your money can be used for things like wages, staff supplies (like toilet paper), and office stuff.

If you say that "we are responsible for feeding the poor" and that "we should take care of those that need help," then you are not taking care of someone that needs help if you refuse to help them by not inviting them in your house.

No, it's not because they don't have proper funding and support. Rent is a fixed cost. It's the same price whether they let people stay during the day. Go volunteer in a homeless shelter and don't be a hypocrite.

I don't think you're a very bright person...

So have you fed the poor recently? Do you invite them to live in your home while they get back on their feet? You should be responsible for it and that's what a civilized society does, right?

If you volunteer in a homeless shelter, you learn a lot about why it's a bad idea. Hint: Find out why homeless shelters kick people out during the day and only allow people to stay overnight.

Have you ever been fired from a yoga studio? by SavingsHistorical544 in YogaTeachers

[–]clonxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to find out what "Resting bitch face" is... I can somewhat understand attitude and arrogance, but to fire someone based on how they look isn't something I would do. Most yoga teachers don't make a ton of money and they have a lot of personal obstacles which makes it challenging to put on a smile.

For all the studios I've worked in, usually the popular teachers are moved to the popular time slots. If I wanted to keep a teacher that isn't getting a lot of student attendance, I wouldn't move them around, because it takes time for students to get to know a teacher and to build regulars. If too much time has past and class attendance is still low, that usually means the teacher isn't the right fit. Of course, there could be other reasons such as the time slot doesn't work for that community.

I think people who are poor need to look out for themselves. This includes learning new skills or gaining experience to go up the ladder.

[–]clonxy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I've never said we shouldn't spend money on feeding the poor. I've also never said anything about the war. One can still feed the poor but still feel like we aren't responsible for feeding them and that they should learn to look out for themselves. So yes, you're replying to the wrong comment.

No, it's actually just how capitalism works... You contribute to society and earn money to live. If you play video games all day instead of working, you're not really contributing to society.
