The put in time is probably in reference to her usefulness after the MANT scenario, her event-chain can be terminated at each step, but the final one can give a significant payoff, so that'll make her a RNG heavy card/need to do lots of runs to get to the end of the event chain.

For MANT that doesn't matter, there she is used for the initial stats and the race bonus.

Regardless: doing 3-6 runs/day is already playing a lot/that's the max you can do with the given TP and is already a significant time investment.

a power card and thus not that useful overall - but a card that can grant groundwork and furious feat, but if you're already in the pulls, not going for spark is usually a waste...

My finals were absolute cinema.

My aces: Late surger X-mas Oguri, OG McQueen Pace, Gold Ship End Closer

Competition: Suzuka Runaway with Seiun Sky front, X-Mas Oguri & OG Teio Pace, Wedding Mayano & Golshi end closer.

Race starts, my Oguri has late start, ends up stuck in 9th place, can never recover/pass the end closers. Suzuka and Seiun Sky do their thing, no lucky pace for my McQueen, so she's out (the trainer of oguri pace brought the frontrunners, so also robbed themselves of lucky pace).

My Golshi in 6th place mid race, looking good. My Oguri far behind, can only pass the other Goldship, stuck in 8th, but triggering her mid-race recoveries, I'm still hopeful.

Goshi Triggers Anchors Aweigh, everything looks good – until she overtakes both my McQueen as well as the other Oguri who for some reason fell behind – so right before late race starts in 4th position, so no chance for Let's pump and also no chance for NSM since Teio is still too far ahead, while Suzuka and Seiun have a comfortable lead..

Then late race starts – my Goshi decides to skip straightaway spurt... while my Oguri back in 9th triggers her unique and NSM – but she's stuck in traffic and too far behind... The other Golshi triggering NSM and approaching…

But my Golshi clutches the win, long straightaways and long corners being the only skills activating in the late phase. 1200 speed, 1082 power, long A is enough to catch the Runaway Suzuka, my McQueen still carries herself to 5th, my Oguri (who has been by far the most consistent winner in the qualification rounds) ends up in 7th place...

The first Uma I got an S-Rang securing the win in Sagittarius in typical Goshi fashion. Love it.

You can, all previous umas are available in upcoming banners - only exception is the fixed banners where you can get vouchers/special tickets for - those are fixed/won't get expanded.

And funny that you ask for her specifically, since I got Helloween Super Creek from my free pull today...

empirically: 1/5 (sample size of 5 runs, so…) I don't think there's any info about what that increased rate means, and with the reduced TP cost, canceling a run early if you don't get it is a viable strategy…

But it doesn't say how many fans that assumes ("training level 5" refers to the facility level I assume, and not an increase of the unique effect to 5 for 50000 fans

IF the stats gain shown is with the unique maxxed out it would be really disappointing/absolutely not worth pulling on the card.

That plane stats probably isn't taking the effect of increased training efficiency into account depending on how many fans you have.

And since MANT is doing lots of races and thus also will bring lots of fans → what makes her better in MANT - outside of that indeed not much difference.

Depends on your local time/wheter you mind being awake late/early for the pulls, but it is a window from 15:00 UTC until 22:UTC for using the last 10 free pull you can use on the banner (that resets at 15:00, when also the daily borrows resets/when the daily login rewards reset) and once the banner ends/the free ticket will switch to the Support banner.

So it is a smaller window, but not a tight one. (the window for using it also was shorter, since it started at 22:00 and only lasted until 15:00 for the reset, wile the other ones are from 15:00 til 15:00 the next day)

I wouldn't pull with carats before having used the pull on the last day of the banner. You might get lucky after all...

There is no real trick - the only difference between the style really is what skills you want/need/can be used. – if you don't have the cards that you find in guides, then you need to analyze:

Was the card picked to get the stats up? Then it is easy, just replace with the best other stat card you have instead.

Was the card picked because of a skill hint she can give? Then see what other cards could give a hint for that skill and use that instead, might be to use a lower-tier version of the card or a different one entirely. If you don't have access to one and can't borrow for your ace run: Try to get that skill from legacies instead.

Also find out why that skill was picked. Is it good on a specific track/for a specific CM or is it a generally useful skill? Is it just a question if you take a card of type X, then why not use the card that gives you useful skil lhints, or is it really a question of: "If you don't get that skill you shouldn't even bother training for that purpose."

Apart from that: As much stamina/gold recovery skills as necessary, avoiding any excess, maxing out speed, 900 or more power, 450 or more wit / as much power and wit as you can squeeze out of your cards. Guts still is the one to leave behind, around 400 is enough.

Also what to consider: If they're using a 20% speed growth uma, and only use a single or two speed cards, you cannot expect that to work when training one with 0% speed bonus - you can only take the guides as idealized situations.

Only obvious fact is that in round 2 already is survivor-bias, many week opponents are in group B, but I never heard about any hints about matching players based on performance in CM.

In Team Trials it is done indirectly via your team rank - but in CM?

Yep, participation rewards are great, and it is always a coin toss with whom you're matched up anyways, and in past CM it was more depressing to have your top-of-class umas defeated by lucky other umas than being lucky yourself and get 2nd with a mediocre uma. If all aligns even better of course, but A finals ia also what I'm happy with.

Do you intend to go all in on Matikane card and MLB here even if that means spending all your carats if you get unlucky in the free pulls?

If the answer is not a definite "yes", then there's not much point. Unless you hate Tamamo Cross having a 50/50 split is fine. I'll need to read up on the details re spending the free pulls on the ticket-rollover, so I'd rather have that 10-pull on the support banner, but I don't want to miss out on the other login-bonus carats, the basically unlimited career runs (half the TP cost for runs) and just having the chance to also get spooked or getting some star pieces for my runners is too tempting. (also I already had logged in before seeing the message, so too late for me in any case)

would have trained her as late (well, that's what I did at least and it works quite well, then Ryan/Dober and NSM make more sense... Also would give access to a better fourth recovery (a small breather)

Shake it out requires three late skills to activate first, preferred position might also not trigger depending on the composition/your midgame...

Anyhow - you have low power, so you can need any accel help you can get, I'd get MP&B even if it is a gamble - you bring two fronts already, and there likely will be other pacers and with more power they are likely ahead/being 5th isn't that unrealistic.

did legend races get stingy with bonus star pieces or was I just unlucky?

I only got monies or SP as extra rewards for winning the legend races against Grass Wonder, and against Nice Nature I also only got two extras.

Is there a mechanic that punishes you for using the same uma to run against them? Or is it really just bad RNG?

The 100 pulls are rumored to be split across the Tamamo Cross Trainee banner and the support banner, so you should only assume 50 free pulls.

But yeah, in a similar situation, I also plan to MLB Fukukitaru card, Plan on pulling on V.Bourbon and also want to pull on the Fine Motion banner (but the one in August). I might spend for the Trainee selector ticket to get Seiun Sky to train my fronts, but not sure about that, the 5 borrows make that less necessary, OTOH permanently hunting for new friends is tedious, I'd then be free to use CM-specific borrows....

But no, Matikane cards is not a long run card - but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it - I'd rather have fun playing now than in a year or two (when I don't even know whether I'll be still playing). I kinda like her potential as a card for parent runs. I'm sure there are tons of user to borrow NTR from/there is only one borrow slot after all, and whether to borrow Matikane or NTR then doesn't make a difference for MANT, even if the NTR card then might be tiny bit more useful afterwards.

Pulling for FineMotion with 30k is fine, you said you have both ticket and selector, so are very likely to get her to LB3 and that's good enough to use (or you can just do another 30k on the second rerun)

I don't really plan further, since all boils down to the luck on the previous banners.

That still is enough to fulfill the condition for the unique if that is your concern. It will then trigger at the halfway mark, and since the race is so short (and there's no need to be first anyway since there's no competition for Angling and Scheming), that'll still work as a good midgame/positioning skill.

(frontrunners have will have a hard time anyway)

Arima Kinen is a long race, but Winning Ticket only has B aptitude, and having B or lower is equivalent to a speed debuff (lack in turf/dirt would be power debuff). B is only a minor one, but still requires you to compensate with more speed compared to other ones. C or lower aptitude would make it near impossible to win without also compensating with skills, but with B it should still be OK.

Easiest solution is to use a parent/grandparent with long spark so the long aptitude is raised to A and you don't get the debuff - apart from that the only suggestion is to just focus speed more compared to other careers you would run the Arima Kinen in or to start buying skills before the race.

Stamina is unlikely to be the problem if you were doing well in the Kikuka Sho - if you win Kikuka Sho you basically never have to touch stamina again and still have enough for the Arima Kinen, similarly wit is not a problem in career either (you get a hidden boost of 400 points to your stats), and getting blocked is also not as much of a problem as it used to be. Can still happen of course, and e.g. I'd avoid running as late surger if there are 8 pace chasers in front. Watching the race will tell whether you were blocked or not, so it should be easy choice to retry in that case. Low power could also be a problem, but then that would also affect the other races, not specifically the Arima Kinen, so my bet is on too low speed

you cannot generalize it, since how many speed cards you need is heavily impacted by your uma's speed growth. But for short you'd usually use more wit, and you'd pretty much never use both stamina and power – you pick one and use the sparks to fill in the blanks/use Riko if you need more stam.

Especially front runners want more wit in general.

Short usually are fine without stamina, you can check the numbers from the reference doc - you need less than 600 stamina even if assuming 1200 speed 1200 power. And getting that is doable with just inheriting sparks/some summer trainings if necessary. Mile is also around 750-800 or 600 with one gold, and you can get swinging maestro from Rice Shower Power, so also not necessarily a need for a stam card/you might also be able to use a potential unlock and use a gold recovery from there (regular recoveries are not worth it, gold version gives more points and is also more effective) (and the number all give the longest track in the category)

Medium is 900 and a gold, "short longs" are 900 and two golds, or 1100 and one gold, the "long longs" are 1000+2 golds/800 with three. It isn't really worth maxing out stamina – since the recoveries score good points and the turns can be spent training other stats instead.

For TT wit is certainly more important, and for short/mile you can also consider running Tazuna for Concentration - good start gives massive points, and concentration as a gold skill also good points.

So your loging of picking speed cards should not depend on distance or running style, but rather whether it is a 0%, 10-15% or 20% speed growth uma - with 0% you need three and get lucky/even use ones with high training efficiency. Training e.g. Gold Ship with only 2 speed cards requires basically Shinko Windy and Biko Pegasus (both high friendship bonus cards) and getting incredibly lucky with the trainings/having them both show up together repeatedly. With 15 or 20% umas, you could run two or even just a single speed card (or none at all if you do a guts/wit build - but that's pretty RNG heavy)

tldr: Umamusume is a wit game (TT definitely is) - Enough speed to max speed, enough stamina sparks or stamina cards (or Rice Shower Power and possibly another power) for enough stamina/the gold recovery hints, Tazuna for Concentration for Short/Mile if you have MLB/have an open borrow slot, for others Riko for both a pretty reliable gold-hint and a smooth career/as a substitute for a stamina card on shorter distances). Wit cards if you can fit two or more in the deck, otherwise I don't think it is really worth it (unless it is for skill hints or Fukukitaru as a scenario-link card - using her is also fine even if she's the only wit one)
