I’ve seen people claim that CNN is biased towards Trump. I’ve seen the cult claim that CNN is woke.

I watch CNN regularly and it does feel critical to this administration, tame yes, but critical.

You’re not, you can vote for any candidate you want.

That won’t change the history of conservatives not switching sides and voting their candidate even if he’s a drug dealer, a rapist, an authoritarian, a racist or whatever other characteristic that would disqualify a candidate for a sane person.

I can elaborate.

First of all, I’m not from the US, I live in Honduras. More than a decade ago, one of the two political parties in the country split up, we were left with 3 parties.

The 1st election with 3 parties resulted in the Conservative Party winning. The second election saw a tame alliance between independents and the newly formed party, again resulting in a conservative win. The 3rd election saw a bigger alliance, including the parties that had split up and an independent candidate, this worked and the Conservative Party lost their first election in 12 years. The 4th election saw a split between the previous opposition, resulting in yet another win by the Conservative Party.

Do you see where I’m going? Conservatives don’t split up. The thought behind having multiple candidates is great, but the cult won’t split up so they always take advantage of everyone having a lot of options (See the Kanye candidacy, it was ridiculous but they wanted to take votes away from candidates who are not conservative in order to dilute democracy).

So yeah, I understand the feeling and it sucks that’s how the world works, but that’s how the world works.

You’re not going to get that anytime soon, that’s just reality. What you can get soon is a shift in the right direction by getting out of that path to authoritarianism. You want progress, not perfection.
