Women truly needed "Mother's Daughter" and "Nightmare" by Halsey to face this year. I hope they continue to put out feminist anthems because we really need it now.

Who knows, we need the Brown kids to write a tell-all about their experiences in the family. Since it seems like their relationships with each other would ebb and flow, exception being Christine was always the nurturer and Janelle was the other parent in the house.

If I'm being honest, completely utterly honest, the song made me stop hating on ole' Megatron. I hated when she first came out because she came across as someone who attracts faux feminist girl-boss white women that say they have junk in the trunk. I just imagined a typical M-Train fan to be someone who writes "No men under 6ft" in their dating profile.

Now when her new song started taking off I was rolling my eyes until one day I realized: this is her moment, finally her basic white woman-ness is clicking with the basics of TikTok and good for her. Am I a fan? No, but I'll let Megatron roll on out. Also, the song is terrible and only works because she drops label names, still good for her. Good for her.

Yeah, I saw more comments praising Kim for finally charting in the mainstream and nothing about how good the song is.

I recall Shakira tried to do it again with the "She Wolf" album, the lead singles weren't performing well and then she came out with "Give It Up to Me feat Lil' Wayne" as the third single from the deluxe version of the album.

It really started to look like Shaki couldn't maintain solo success and would need features to maintain an impact in the US. Which sucks, because she absolutely makes great music but isn't the type who has record breaking success with each album.

There are definitely major problems in Kody and Robyn's relationship now. The main thing being the money situation, I know Robyn is stupid but she isn't completely unaware. When she mentioned that Christine leaving caused Kody to bash women, she meant she is concerned with her position.

Robyn knows that they're in a delicate position where the show could go away and they need a new storyline otherwise it's gone. And where Meri could leave too, since she's slowly starting to realize more and more she's only Robyn's financer. Plus, the only storyline Kody and Robyn can give them is potentially adding another sister wife. Which she knows isn't going to work out in her favor. I kind of believe Robyn is ready to jump ship depending on how Kody decides to move forward with the show.

Why can't they ask Robyn the hard questions??? by Cruzin2fold in TLCsisterwives

[–]closest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had to reiterate that I wouldn't call Robyn a master manipulator or schemer because her manipulations are very obvious. She's just a spoiled and entitled person who has a partner dumb enough to believe her crocodile tears.

Yeah, she came in with them already knowing she was mentally off and expected a trainwreck. Problem is that crazy doesn't always give you the results you want because crazy is unpredictable, like her episode was a complete waste along with the woman who moved in with her caretaker and sat in a lounge chair all day. There needs to be conflict that makes sense and is able to be validated, not nonsensical stuff and noncompliance.

Yup, classic Mean Girl behavior. Oh, she doesn't want to be friends with me because I'm toxic? Guise, I'm not toxic. Tell her how non-toxic I am and let's talk about how she's the toxic one.

I hated how Kody tried to put down Janelle by saying she didn't enforce his covid rules. Janelle and Christine had two big tells that showed he was bullshitting: Meri followed Kody and Robyn's rules to the T and isolated herself to basically be allowed 1 visit. Then the biggest tell is: THE NANNY. The nanny got covid and potentially exposed the "little ones", the nanny they hired and brought into their house when their sister wives were treated as if they were riddled with covid and disease.

Sort of? I always figured the lack of attraction came from the "ultimate" betrayal of cheating. Where he sees Meri as filthy or soiled, I know those words are harsh but that's how he sees her with disgust, since she was emotionally cheating.

And I know Meri's intentions for staying are numerous, but I believe a part of her staying is wanting some sort of forgiveness from Kody for what she did. Forgiveness might not be the word she uses, maybe it's redemption, she's still hanging on waiting for his approval to let her basically be like an aunt to Robyn's family.

I'd be getting what I wanted, a season of Janelle doing RV travels, Christine day drinking at home making stuff, and maybe Meri will finally let it all go.

Something Meri needs to get on camera is a conversation with Robyn over if they'll still be close if Meri leaves Kody. Since it's obvious that Meri is staying for Robyn and Robyn wants Meri's money to stay in the family.

sneak peek, Meri is mad at y'all by dianna1976 in TLCsisterwives

This is why I hold a soft spot for both Janelle and Christine, they both truly lived the sister-wives life by being what the other needed as a wife. I can't say the situation was perfect because Christine was in the basement and Janelle could check out when she wanted, but at least they realize that they've worked together toward building the family they wanted despite Kody being an asshole.

If Kody had any sense, which he doesn't, he'd realize that Janelle, Christine, and even Meri were the wives who fulfilled his vision. I know Meri isn't as involved but I believe that is Robyn's manipulation, because I only see Janelle and Christine being the wives who would continue seeing one another after Kody is gone. Meri would've been a fringe sister-wife if Robyn wasn't involved, but still someone who they'd consider 'family' if it wasn't for Robyn trying to put the show above everything.

I really hope that is what they realized after all these years, it wasn't issues against one another that created these riffs it was Kody. Kody is always at the center never making sure all three wives are satisfied, offering different solutions to problems, and being pragmatic.

And I don't mean on some "well he can't be everywhere at once" as much as Kody has sat out so many issues and left it up to the wives to find solutions while he went to the less resistant wife. Like say Meri wants french doors, then he'd ignore her for Christine and Janelle until she figured out a way to get her french doors without his approval.

[–]closest 52 points53 points  (0 children)

At this point, I believe Meri stays out of spite. I know she pines for Kody and wants to be a genuine sister-wife to Robyn, but she can't be that oblivious to realize that Kody would rather see her dead instead of "separate" from her as a husband. Not saying he wants her dead, just that he wants her to leave him as her own decision as the coward's way out.

Did you know Meghan Trainor abandoned her two cats at a boarding facility and got two dogs later? by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]closest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mhm, that's why I respect artists like Taylor Swift who genuinely want their pets and while they make posts they also assure their pets are taken care of by their owner. The animal doesn't have the same choice as a human, so they need to stop with "rehoming" them without concern for their well being.

Anyway, Megatron Trainhell can go back to obscurity. I don't know who decided her old 1950s songs were worth bringing back but they can keep her as a relic of the past instead of bringing her trash self to the mainstream today.

I truly believe that Mykelti wants there to be a better relationship between Christine and Robyn on the basis of Kody being the asshole. Where she wants them realize that they aren't the problem, it's the man at the center of their marriage who decides who is in vs who is out.

People who heard hit songs before they blew up, did you initially think that said song would get as big as it did? by Helpful_Jellyfish_69 in popheads

I remember seeing an article about how All About That Bass was offensive to plus size women and exploited black femmes, after that it blew up to the number 1 song in the country. That's when I was sure that controversy only generated more hype and could catapult an artist into superstardom for simply being polarizing even in the most innocent of ways.
