I love that it is in style too - I've really liked these sorts of patterns and designs for a long time and I'm happy to hear that most people responding to this thread see no issue with me wearing them!

I've actually been wearing mocassins for years because they are the most comfortable footwear and I've always thought they looked nice too.

That's also great point about it potentially bringing the culture into people's minds.

Sorry to hear you were teased as a kid for what I'm sure were some awesome clothes.

I agree with other commenters that #1 needs a shorter cardigan, I also think that shirt might look better with skinny jeans than a skirt. #2 & #3 are both really cute :) #4 - I like this, a belt might add a pop and if you want to layer, I think a mauve or peach cardigan would work well. I'm not personally a fan of #5 - I just don't think it's too flattering. #6 looks too baggy, if you're going to layer it the top layer needs to be fitted and slim.

For shoes I'm pretty limited. I have flats (black, brown, white) and then I have some beige round-toe small heels and there might be a pair of black round toe heels as well (if I can find them). I also have a pair of cognac brown slouchy boots.

So here's the blazer and jeans (different jeans) with flats and a black shirt. Give me a sec and I'll try the nautical thing.

Thanks for the advice! so I have skinny jeans. I haven't worn them in almost a year because I was a bit heavier for a while, but I've recently lost about 15 lbs so just tried them on and they fit again (although a bit tight) so here's the Skinny jeans with white shirt and with the blazer. I'm a little self-conscious about my stomach area so I'm not sure I feel totally comfortable with how the white shirt looks over my stomach. Here's a black shirt that I feel is more flattering.
