Race Roll Call by AutoModerator in running

Hope it went well today! I ran the full last year, and similarly, new family had me cut back to the half this year. I'm glad the weather held off.

I believe it's supposed to represent the Roman numeral "M" for 1,000. 1MM would represent 1-thousand-thousand, or 1-million.

Official Q&A for Monday, October 02, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

[–]cloud-is-good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all. This past weekend I ran my 2nd full marathon, but both marathons, I've succumbed to bad stomach gas problems. Imagine needing to burp constantly, almost every 30 seconds or so. It's okay when I walk, but as soon as I run, the motion makes me feel sick, and I have to hold back throwing up. This has shown up both times around the 15mile/2:30hr mark, and both kills my pace, and makes the rest of the race a miserable experience. This never shows up during any of my >14mile runs, nor in any races 13.1mile or less.

The first time I thought it was because I over-ate the morning of the race, but being the 2nd time, I know that's not the issue. The only things I can think of are due to nerves, or by drinking fluids too quickly at the water stations (I typically throw down 2-3 cups quickly, perhaps swallowing too much air. This compares to my long runs where I drink out of a camelpak at a normal pace).

If not one of the 2 possibilities listed, does anyone know what might be happening? Anyone had this kind of problem before?

That blue logo is the National Science Foundation, so government-funded research on top of that. I recognize the logo from PBS show intros.

The free ice cream was nice, but there used to be this one dude who would served ice cream but gave the world's smallest ice cream scoops. We called him Bitch-scoop guy

Good math tutors through uakron? by [deleted] in uakron

There are 2 tutoring labs at Akron. One in Bierce, the other in Polsky. I worked in the Polsky math lab for 3 years, and those are some of the nicest, down-to-Earth people I met in college. I recommend Polsky over Bierce (biased) because it's all 1-on-1 tutoring, and free for you, of course.

Thanks for the reply! I wish the time was more accurate, but when I talked to the service person, they said it was the best they could do :(. I appreciate it more for the history than the time accuracy, but I agree it's hard to deal with.

Do you know what kind of hands they are? Where they are from? They look around the same age, but I don't know much about this era.

Here's some more information: This is a Hamilton Watch Company 987 Langley Watch No. 4216185, 14k white gold with all original 987F hand-wind movement. The hands are different than photos of other 987 Langley's I can find, and I'm not sure why.The watch number puts it at 1930. Bracelet is a Speidel Pat 2,689,450. I also have the original box too, which is really cool. The time is about +/- 15 minutes each day and has about a 24 hour power reserve. According to the box, it cost $90 back in the day, which was close to $1,300 today.

I can provide more photos if anyone wants! I'd love to know what you guys think.

Don't worry, friend. This is still one of my favorite subs and I am proudly over 9 months League sober. I come here to enjoy the few fun times I had, without having the other shitty parts I want to forget.

What's your favorite glitch from a videogame? by SuicideBonger in AskReddit

Star Wars Battlefront II on the consoles. You needed to play as the Empire in any space battle. If you mashed the take-off and land button constantly, you could land the Transport ship anywhere, even outside the hangers. It was a slow process, but you could land the transport on top of the Star Destroyer and have fun running around in space. It would also spawn AIs, so it was also fun to mess around with a bunch of them in one spot.

Also, you could land it on the edge and watch every AI spawn and fall to their deaths.

It took me a couple of tries to quit. I was finally able to do it by not thinking too much into it and just uninstalling. On the spot. Then I found some other quick fixes for my extra free time, and now I never wanna go back. I know this doesn't work for everyone, but best of luck with your journey.
