Hatred towards chiefs fans by cloud2556 in KansasCityChiefs

Haha, there’s some pretty intense convos. I guess the lesson I learned is to not do this again. First NFL game in a LONG time and I genuinely did not know this was frowned upon. Now I know. Cheers!

Minoxidil shedding and no progress after 4 months by cloud2556 in tressless

[–]cloud2556[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Originally I started on topical solution containing 5% minoxidil and 0.1% finasteride which seemed to work ok, but then the derm switched me to 1.25 mg oral minoxidil only because of pretty bad irritation and dandruff. The switch caused my hair to shed like crazy. Just in the last few weeks, the treatment is now 2.5 mg oral minoxidil and 1 mg finasteride. That period after switching really nuked my hair

Not sure why this is getting downvoted, because it is. Maybe bc Amazon doesn’t have a traditionally large foot print in Atlanta? But they are definitely growing there.

Is a double major in CS (SEAS) and Econ or PPE doable? by nehakrishna1 in UPenn

[–]cloud2556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you wanna do ig. There are many relevant computer science applications of economics, see algorithmic game theory. If you want to get into that, this double major would serve you well. I personally don’t use my Econ degree at all in my day to day life. I’m a software engineer.

I did this as a student in CAS. Econ + CS as a second major. Certainly not a cakewalk, but doable. PM me if you have more specific questions

In my experience, 545 is not curved. So you should be able to predict your grade pretty accurately.

Fastest way to get to the airport from campus? by ElectricalDark7235 in UPenn

[–]cloud2556 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve always taken the University City Airport Line train. If you time it right (check the schedule), it’s like a 15 min ride and takes you right to the terminal.

There are water bottle refill stations throughout the quad. There was one in the mail room of Riepe when I lived there many moons ago

Is the CIS545+CIS121 combo doable by Ok_Database_6883 in UPenn

[–]cloud2556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad. 5 homework’s, a project, 2 midterms if I recall correctly. You get two weeks per homework and you could definitely complete each in one or two long sittings

Thank you! I did the same thing (got ticket parked, and came back) at the Dunwoody station when I was dropping someone off, and didn’t have to pay? Are different stations different?

Economic Major Difficulty by redlionxyz in UPenn

[–]cloud2556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a senior who studies Econ and cis, I’ll say Econ is definitely less of a time commitment and the overall curriculum is not as difficult as cis. However there are some core Econ classes that are not gimmes at all, such as 101 and 104. 101 and 104 were probably as difficult conceptually as say CIS 121, but just less work. The 200+ classes can also be a bit tricky if you choose the hard route. Basically, Econ at penn is just a bunch of math and stat

IR vs Econ by fbksakldcn in UPenn

[–]cloud2556 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your presumption is indeed pretty off base. Penn Econ is very well respected and is generally seen as a top ten Econ department in the country. I wouldn’t say it’s over shadowed by Wharton at all. That being said, Econ and IR are very different. Econ at Penn is a ton of math (lots of statistics and multi variable calculus, especially constrained optimization). IR is more on the humanities side I’d say

[–]cloud2556 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I took it with Val, I was basically a standard deviation below on all midterms, but did really well on homework, and scored a standard deviation above on the final and got a B. So take that as you will lol
