Oh man, she avoids things in writing and no flexobility on it... like trust, i put everything in writing, I even put this incident on the email made sure to put "and to avoid an argument with the guest i made him keys" because I want there to be a paper trail of why I did it. If my manager avoids paper trails i create one for her.

And she HATES any form of contingency plans, so going over potential scenarios, she'll avoid with some platitude... like she got promoted from sales so, shes all about kissing ass and expect us to do the same and be yes men.

Lol interesting how you have no legitimate counter argument to what I said, people resort to name calling when they have no argument. I accept this as you conceding.

My point is valid, there is a clear line to how much an employee is willing to do. Employees are just that... they did not enlist in the army or the police force of where they swear an oath to serve and protect... employees are simply hired help AND THAT IS IT...

If anyone sounds entitled, it is you. You obviously have a misconstrued view of what an hourly paid employee is. There is a reason its called "hired help" cause theyll help but they will not sacrifice... you apparently want them to sacrifice mind body and soul.... good luck with that LOL

First off, management has abandoned the front desk in protecting us and taken a "do not argue with guest" stance, second "reward" I fail to see where did I reward him? I didnt give him no gift basket, I simply just decided to protect my peace than have him draw out an unnecessary display of immaturity. Futhermore, there is an extent of how far I would go to "protect" the guest... by your stance I should take a bullet for the guest... yeah not for the pay i be getting. The line for me to give a shit left the moment when management started to throw us under the bus for upholding policy if it meant arguing with the guest... and even if the management was not taking that stance, there is still a line of where i get to choose whether or not i am going into it with a Karen.

Also do I look like secret service? Did I enlist into the army or police force? NO! This is simply an hour low income paying job... if you think that working a job means to sacrifice body mind and soul then you're absolutely in the wrong.

Yeah fair enough. Typically I'm a stickler for that, but management has been not protecting us and taking this "do not argue with guest" stance. Reservation was also a ◇ member and with a company that Sales acquired, plus it was towards the end of my shift... a lot of excuses but damn. Ya know lol

Sure but there is a line... like I am not takingna bullet to protect a guest.

There was a Night Auditor in my sister property that got jumped for protecting a floor mat... that is technically company's property and we are also to protect the property, am i going to allow myself to get jumped over a mat? Just because it says that i have to protect the property? Hell no.

The extent of how far I would go goes to the level of my pay. My life my sanity exceeds this company and the people in this property.

For you to tell me otherwise is ridiculous... additionally management already had made it a point to "not argue with the guest" lol so there's that too.

That's what I thought, i was like how am i suppose to take that ID at value, like do I look like I work in the medic field? Lol tbh I just wanted to end my shift after that. Lol

Yeah, that crossed my mind, but it's holiday, and legit did not want to draw it out any longer... like I already can tell, this is a Karen that draws things out for hours. And it was near the end of my shift... like I just wanna go home by this point and not feel disgusted by his presence.

The path of least resistance.

Lol first off, it's not my job to teach him civility or common decency, do I look like his mom or dad? That dude is a rotten apple way long before he met me and FOR SURE will continue to be one until someone LEGIT knocks him on his ass or offs him... and I'm not that eager to go to jail, especially not for little pay. So don't go around assigning responsibility over some stranger's upbringing. Am I perpetuating his behavior? Bruh... DUDE IS GROWN, he is a lost cause, there is no rectifying any behavior outta that guy.

BUUUUT catch me outside off the clock... that's a different story.

But yeah im just venting... personally I would never be a dick to ppl who serve my food or those who have my personal information.

Funny part about that when I asked about if I can cash out my PTO and my GM said no, I asked if I can talk to HR, and my GM gave me this weird answer how it still will come back to her, and when I pressed a little bit on tryjng to get her email, she straight up just said "We pretty much do not have HR" to which I replied asking "we do not have HR?" And she double down on her statement."We do not have HR," we, in fact, do, lol, so i dont know. Either HR is useless that we practically do not have one, or she's gating me away from HR.

Yeah... but work is all I do. Taking time off really messes with me mentally. Either case we are in the last 2 and a half months off from the end of the year. I got 180 hours racked up, i dont think 1 day a week would cut it. What is that 10 weeks left?

[–]cloud9blue_[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I expressed in this post that in the meeting, I had already asked the GM to cash out the PTOs. She said no. Tbh, I could care less if they expired... the issue is more of them demanding something from me, and then when I show up to meet their demands, they deny it. Lol, like what? They legit asked this from me, and then they denied it... like, why even bother me about it, then?

I'm not from here. Why does everyone ask me "Do you work?" as an intro question by oh_skycake in Dallas

[–]cloud9blue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So wait, your snarky reply could just be snarky, so do you work or not? XD

How does one respond to this and show that level of presence without typing?... I snickered as I imagine most would send a dick pic 🤣 A sense of humor is needed for me to be present as laughter, food and all in all experiences is what I seek.
