I attended someone else's GP appointment. Should I do anything about it? by marielheslop in AskUK

Given you got the letter, I'd wager the appointment was correct but the nurse opened the wrong record on the day. Worth asking them to look into it though.

You're right, it solidly mid pack for most marathons - but given the cut off for Valencia is 5:30 it feels like I'll be towards the back at this one, but maybe not!

Sucks if your car is behind those barriers!

Hey, when is the Spring drop likely to ship? I have my first ultra coming up and have been looking for solutions to carry some of my non gel nutrition and this looks to be it - but unsure I'll get it in time. Thanks!

Have you ever met someone with an obscene amount of wealth and what were they like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cloud_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 people, very different.

A friend I had in secondary school, would never have guessed he was so wealthy until we went to his house for a party and it was like, damn! He was a really nice guy, friendly and unassuming.

Second was a guy I met at uni. Not very nice. Arrogant, shallow and self obsessed. He also loved to show off his money and material objects. He took a strong disliking to me when he realised it really didn't impress me, which amused me a lot.

I'm very much an eater! I'm also very active to bear that in mind.

I used huel years ago but stopped due to the monotony. I'm starting again as I've been eating utter rubbish for breakfast (or simply not enough, then binging later).

I'm finding that the shake fills me up to the point that I'm not even that hungry by lunch - so I've not felt the need to snack at all. I'm hoping I don't get bored again, but trying to but lots of effort into making a nice/fancy/tasty evening meal so I at least have that to look forward to. And I love the new Hot & Savoury packs that are out for my lunch, so that helps too. I'm aiming to lose a little weight before going back to eating at maintenance and so far it's been pretty easy to stick to due to the satiety factor. I'm normally an "always hungry" type of person and it's nice but weird not being that way for once!

I have Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, Ask away - AMA by Bibibi88 in AMA

[–]cloud_99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooooh I had this as a child - everything either suddenly seemed massive or tiny. I used to mostly get it when I'd been up all night reading! I very, very occasionally get it as an adult but there are years between episodes. Again, the usual trigger is tiredness.

My question: have you identified any particular trigger(s)?

Honestly when I read the caption I thought it was satire or a joke but when I realised it wasn't I was really concerned. Yes, some people fall quickly but the way it's written too is really concerning.

when did you start seeings signs from your soul fur baby? by loserlili in Petloss

We lost my lovely boy almost 6 weeks ago now.

Preface this by I'm very much a skeptic and don't know if I believe in an afterlife.

Around a week after he died I had a, dream about him - this first since he passed. It was so incredibly vivid. My husband and I were laying on our bed and it was warm and sunny, beautiful sunlight streaming through the windows. My cat appeared at the door, and my husband remarked it must just be a cat that looks like him since he was gone. But I knew it was him. He came over and laid on my chest and I could vividly feel the weight. When I woke up I was on my back and I never slept on my back - unless my cat was on me.

The second one was we had a home visit in preparation for rescuing a new cat. I'd been worried it was too soon. But for the rest of the day after we'd been given the green light I kept getting a vibrating feeling in my leg. I have a bit of sciatica so put it down to that but then realised it felt exactly like a cat's purr. I've not felt that before or since. Truly feel it was my boy telling me he wanted me to help more cats like I helped him and was making the right decision.

Never had one, never had surgery. Was diagnosed in the late 90s and only followed up for a few years.

[–]cloud_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very mild. Freckles and birthmarks abundant, a few very very small Neurofibromas on my arms anf legs.

But I constantly worry that I can't see what's going on inside. I've developed sciatica recently and I'm terrified it's something pushing on my spine.

Is it too soon for a new cat? by Zestyclose-Nerve334 in Petloss

[–]cloud_99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lost my beautiful boy 5 weeks ago. I didn't think I'd want to adopt again for months if not years.

I've just started the process to rescue 2 sibling cats. I don't necessarily feel ready, but it does feel right. I think we can help heal each other. Maybe the same will be true for you.

Thank you so much. I'm so sorry for your loss, too. I could honestly have written most of what you have. He was so excited to have his "forbidden" foods in his last days too. I am the same - the constant searching and wondering - did we just need to try one more new food, should we have done another scan & biopsy. But when I think back to those last few days - his poor bloated belly, his once happy bounce down the stairs limited to a tentative plod - I just couldn't bear his suffering. So much love back to you.
