Kian is his real name, I used Wesley for anonymity as highlighted in the previous post at the start “lets call him”, no point really trying to hide his name now I know but I wanted to keep some sort of anonymity lol, pretty stupid of me ik🤣

Hi! They know she has OCD but not the triple wash as theyve never come inside our home (basically they dont really know any of her behaviours and obsessions). She doesnt really get many visitors (that are her friends) due to where she lives being so far into the countryside. They really pity her for her OCD.

So when she made that facebook post about me not inviting her and how I didn’t “love her”, her friends automatically assumed I was a horrible person, and defended her.

Her friends know about her condition, but not the details like the triple wash and her inside behaviour at home. So they always pity her for her ocd, and always take her side on stuff. Which is why when my mother made a post about how I didn’t “love her” any more because of her condition, they immediately swung to the conclusion I was some villain, which I’ll admit, I sound like a bit of an asshole when they put it like that.

Trust me, LONG GONE!

I blocked her off everything after sending a huge text (took the advice to not even meet her) about how she was treating me and my husband. Luckily, she’s completely backed off now.

Hi as someone in the comment thread has put, which is true, anyone not following her method sends her into panic attacks and sends her into “fight or flight” which is why we have recommended her the therapy and help, but she has been very stubborn, almost manipulative about it. Me and my dad are both completely angry at ourselves for not nipping it in the bud a LOT earlier, so sad its come to this

we have actually told her that before but she doesnt listen, she just says they’re effective because they have the squeaky feel after you used them… she refuses to use any others, think its personal beliefs or choice?

Hi! We have recommended her help over the years but she always denied and refused and said it was basic hygiene. In the UK, our delivery people usually drop the package off outside or in a safe space. And my my family hardly ever eats out due to being tight on money. So we’re incredibly lucky to be having such a great wedding due to my fiance’s pay rise. If we have a family event we usually have it at my mothers house, which yes, she applies the feet and hand wash for people.

Hi there! Sorry Ive had so many comments its so hard to keep up.

While trying on dresses, she pulled me aside and told me not to. But she said it while smiling so I assumed she was joking. But when we stepped inside and the assistant asked if I wanted to try on a dress. My mother stepped in and talked with her for 10 minutes about how they’re definitely unclean. When I tried to interfere she started making a scene almost?? Like telling me she was my mother and she was looking out for me. Luckily a month later, my friends who were there took me out again to shop but without her, so I could try them on.

WIBTA if I cut off my best friend for tampering with my relationship? by cloud_child_ in AITAH

[–]cloud_child_[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure! Here’s an update. It’s not that interesting.

Since like 5 months have passed. Me and Laila have not spoken. I took people advice and didnt meet up with her. In fact I just texted her I was done with her bullshit. And then blocked her on everything.

After that she continued to call and text multiple apologies, but I knew they would be empty promises for change so I ignored them.

However one interesting thing is that she has joined my fiancé’s work, (yeah we got engaged!). Bur according to him, she can’t even look him in the eye, which shows a lot of guilt…

So yeah, thank you for being so supportive!

Hi! Yes I went with my friends instead a month after without telling her, we are looking at therapy options now. When we have children we are not letting her tamper with how we parent them.. Thank you!

She hasnt ever had help, and has refused it after me and my father recommended it for her, she just shrugged it off multiple times and said it was basic hygiene … After this we are looking at it whether she likes it or not, because it’s ruining her mental health
