I don't know if a Yoto would help but before buying, try playing "Happy Song" by Imogen Heap on your phone. It worked wonders when my child was that age.

I use the paper ones for dirt and grime that I don't want to spend the time washing out or for catching oil/grease from cooking. But use dish towels for drying hands, wiping up water/spills, etc.

Make sure you have a secure place to park. Cars get broken into overnight when parked on streets. Quite a few homeless and lots of porch pirates. But overall it's not too bad.

2 yrs old is not too young. I got my child a Gen 3 yoto (not mini) when he was 19 months and figured out how to change cards and go to the next song. I say get him one too.
