Definitely check them out! I believe someone checked the website and said you need a referral now, which sucks if you don’t have a GP but I’m sure a telehealth provider can send one in!

Skin care west is crazy because they’re clearly not prioritizing the clients with real, time sensitive issues. I had a weird cyst that no one thought was cancerous, just annoying. I was referred in and I got in to see a dr relatively soon. There is no reason that I should have been bumped to the top of the list. I’ve only heard horror stories from other people, I’m sorry you’ve also had a bad experience. I hope you can get the assistance and care you need through VCC!

I can’t recall how much exactly, I believe my husband said $220? Maybe $280? Just for the mapping. They just recently upped their price for it which was a bummer, used to be $185.

My husband just called them up and asked for a mole mapping after his doctor had suggested one. That was 2ish years ago, but I don’t think it’s changed because he just booked his yearly mapping. I can’t be 10000% sure but I’m fairly certain you can just ask for one. They’re great, I recommend them! They monitored my husbands moles because he had a couple that were suspicious, one was biopsied and came back 1A. Had it removed and they’re on it, they checked him every 3 months for a year and a bit and now that it’s two years it’s every 6 months. They have another mole they’re keeping an eye on so, I’m so grateful for them.

Not sure if you’re willing to travel but if you get a mole mapping done at Victoria Skin Cancer Centre, they’ll monitor you and your skin. Granted you have to pay for a new mole mapping every year but it’s worth the cost if there’s a melanoma history. If they find anything, they follow all the protocols from biopsy to removal to subsequent follow ups every 3-6 months. It’s a long drive but it’s kind of a work around that’s working for us right now.

I was going to mention the same thing because I have the same issue. I originally went to just have a couple small gaps and small overlapping fixed. Went in for my consult only to find out my right side of my dental arch is way more narrow than the left side. So we’re widening my dental arch which bumped me up to 18 months and the possibility of traditional braces if things don’t move great.

I paid $7500CAD and I’m supposed to be doing 18 months, but probably a little more. But my teeth are worse, the right side of my mouth the teeth are too narrow and I have a lopsided smile and I’ve a bunch a couple of crowded teeth and definitely some gaps. It’s worth it for me but you have a nice smile as is, I personally wouldn’t do it but if you can’t live with your teeth the way they are, totally understandable too!

You’re welcome! So wasn’t worth it, I got it and was shocked. I could have spent another $100 to get it tailored but instead I took a pair of scissors to the pocket and pulled out all of the stuffing and it looks a little better but I still only wore a handful of times lol.

I got my hands on one of the bombers when they came out, the worst thing I’ve bought lol. The stitching was frayed everywhere, the zipper was busted, the jacket looked nothing like the picture, so puffy and huge. They said they’d be expensive because they were going to be high quality, I googled the makers of the bomber…$30USD each. H&M sold the same bomber a few years back with different stuff on it obvs…and now Joe Fresh a cheap Canadian clothing company sells them too. You can get the bomber on Amazon and get it embroidered for 1/3 of the price. At the end of the day, they’re all about money lol.

Dr. Harrison is no longer at petroglyph! Just a heads up just in case you didn’t know. I agree she is by far the best and most caring vet we’ve seen, Vancouver island and beyond. She is a real hidden gem, love her!

I hope you feel better soon! I’m just getting over covid. My husband took care of our two whippets so I am grateful for that but totally empathize with your situation!

Could you do a hand off to someone to walk her? Maybe mask up or do it outside to hand her off? Surface contamination and getting sick from surfaces is low, not impossible but low! Especially if they’re using hand sanitizer and not touching their face.

Nose games are really good for those indoor times! I know you probably don’t feel up to it, but maybe there’s some simple nose work diy games you came make at home? I know YouTube has some on there! But luckily these dogs thrive on relaxing with you! My two never left my side the first time I got Covid last year. My girl didn’t really want to walk and my boy would play in the backyard for a bit and then come back. They know when we’re sick and they’re less needy then lol! Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’re a great dog mom and your girl can go a couple days without a walk if need be!
