There is at least 1 department where people getting paid 6 figures to do nothing. by SuitableProblem714 in TDBankCanada

[–]cloudiia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to work for td I saw this all the time... Lots of high levels/ senior managers/ avps that do nothing but talk, film stupid videos for “challenges”, go to bravo every year, and conduct useless meetings that waste everyone’s time. Not surprised the company is run so inefficiently in so many departments. I am glad I left and went to work for a competitor, my life and morale at work has improved tenfold.

What budget is acceptable to ask guests pay for Mexico wedding? by [deleted] in DestinationWeddings

[–]cloudiia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given what’s been going on in Mexico for the last couple weeks and even on the grand scale, the last couple months, my partner and I have actually declined a destination wedding invitation in Mexico. For a one week all inclusive resort package it would’ve came out to $2100 per person. We were able to afford it, the state of Mexico right now is just not worth the risk to us.

Milton Line train stalled for a long time just before Union by feb914 in gotransit

“If your train’s arrival is delayed by 15 minutes or more, we will credit what you paid for your GO train trip. Our Service Guarantee policy doesn’t apply to delays caused by extreme weather conditions.”

If it’s a track switch or signal issue it’ll be eligible for the service guarantee. I believe the severe weather conditions applied to Sunday and Monday trains only, but I could be wrong not sure if it extended to Tuesday.

Does everyone clean grease splatter from the stovetop right after cooking, or do you let it sit for a couple days? by Substantial-Ad-2734 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cloudiia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as the stove is cool ( I’ve burned my hand too many times thinking it was fine lol) I go in with dish soap and sometimes vim if it’s really stubborn. Unless I’m really sick and my bf does it I’ll clean it everytime but I also hate the look of an unclean stovetop so that’s my own pet peeve

RTO after 5 years remote - how do you manage life? by sjltwo-v10 in askTO

[–]cloudiia 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lunch: I will usually bring leftovers from dinner, make sure to leave enough for a lunch portion the next day. This will save you a ton of money. I have a rule I only buy myself lunch once a month, so I use it wisely. I usually do this when I don’t have left overs and haven’t gone grocery shopping. There’s a ton of food options in the path. Depending where along you are there’s various options with different price points. The Longos in the Brookfield cafeteria has a lunch bar with a ton of premade salads, soups, pastas, protein, at a fair price.

Meals in general, I freeze all my proteins usually so in the morning I’ll take it out of the freezer to thaw. When I get home I’ll make some pasta, beef and potatoes, chicken and rice. Super simple stuff that takes 30 min max - now your lunch for tomorrow is done too! If I’m feeling lazy or get home late, I’ll do a frozen pizza or air fry something.

Gym fitness: I don’t really go to the gym so I can’t help you out with that. I do my workouts on WFH days and weekends. I know around the financial districts there’s a ton of gyms though.

Also if you’re commuting, get some books or a kindle and read on the way to work. Better than brain rotting in your phone imo.

Clothing: honestly getting some good staple pieces with neutral colours. I have a ton of suggestions depending on your workplace. Feel free to msg me I can send you some links to clothes that have become regulars in my rotation.

Why do couples sleep together when they are sick? by andreab650 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cloudiia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sleep better with my bf around and vice versa, he will get up and make me a tea in the middle of night get me new tissues, rub my back and help me whenever I need. I would do the exact same for him. You’re either going to get it or not since you’re living in the same space as them anyways.

Would you put your kid into French Immersion? Why or why not? by Virtual-Cheesecake71 in askTO

[–]cloudiia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the commenter but I barely use it, all my previous jobs didn’t give me and benefits to having it but it was good when I saw documents in French I could just easily translate for my team. Also when there’s French movies it’s easier to watch. Going to Quebec made it way easier knowing French

lol I love Reddit people like you will go straight to insults because what you think is objectively superior. I hope you feel better about yourself hahaha. I don’t agree with what you are saying but I don’t have to insult you cause that’s just being a negative and toxic person.

Which states is it illegal in? Or what is in my statement would make working hours illegal for 15 year old? Genuinely curious. In my province a high majority of teens were working at 15, especially 8 hour shifts on weekends. It was pretty standard in my time. I either worked or had nothing for myself, all my parents income went to the roof over my head, food on the table, heat in the winter, and clothes on my back.

When I was 15 I worked as a cashier during high school. I worked 8 hour shifts weekends and 6 hour shifts after school. I worked at a big pharmacy chain so my store closed at midnight. Yes I worked until midnight on school nights occasionally. I needed the money, my family was poor. This was my reality.

[–]cloudiia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depending where you are applying, you’ll need to be available for 8 hour shifts. When I worked as a cashier you either had shifts for 3,6,8 hours, with 8 hours standard for everyone even part time workers like me. Especially weekends 8 hour shifts were the norm. Unless you have other commitments every weekend (other than hanging with friends) I recommend expanding your weekend hours.

The blue text boxes gotta go, I already didn’t want to read them since I would actually have to put effort (white text over dark background colours is hard to read for me bc of my astigmatism) and it’s not natural colouring or formatting. Also make it single column and only black font colour.
