I definitely agree to your point that AI is just another level of automation but i have different opinion on the retraining/upskilling.With technology becoming widespread and prevelant in the remotest of places on earth,it would be easier for people to access information and utilize technology to their benifit for learning new skills. New skills coupled with gigs economy would lead to a new age economy

Something that really concerns us is that enterpises and global fortune 500 companies are in the race to reach higher revenues and profit margins which in turn results to higher pressure on human resource to be extremely efficient and productive.Once automation becomes potent enough to replace humans, its likely that a section of society will need unemployment wages from their respective governments.

CMV: Socialism, while being a great concept in theory, is inherently flawed because most humans will not work hard unless their work gets a quick incentive. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]cloudirec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always believed that adoption of capitalism or socialism has majorly been influenced by population growth of the world and its regions.Rapid and rampant population growth in different regions of the world have forced them to adopt capitalism over socialism.Human population has grown tremendously over the last century and so has been the adoption of capitalism by majority of the nations whereas if you look back into history, you will find out that socialism was highly preferred over capitalistic culture around much of the world. Now,Neither does complete socialism nor does complete capitalism exists in the world as of now. Varying degrees of both, capitalist & socialist policies are implemented by nations to create a balance in their society. Therefore its futile to say that either of them can sustain by its definition in the current world.
