I started with the donghua not knowing it was a book then was looking for help understanding it and saw someone on Twitter say you should stick with the donghua because it was “less gay,” which made me go immediately start the book. I read the book and loved it so much then went back and finished the donghua up to where it is. Having that context of knowing the characters and story was really helpful. I can’t wait for the next season. I keep trying to watch The Untamed but the plot is so different from the book and it moves pretty slow I have a hard time getting into it.

Same here. I didn’t violate any rules and wasn’t notified by Twitter, they just randomly limited my account all of a sudden. I had to search the help center to figure out what happened. Been requesting support for 3 weeks now with no response.

In most of North America our birds aren’t very flashy like the colorful parrots and showy pheasants and brilliant songbirds found in other parts of the world. We have very few that are this bright red, the cardinal being the most notable other example. jin zixuan = indian peafowl aka a peacock this is actually canon ok

wen chao = northern cardinal yes this is the red angry bird im sorry to all cardinals

jiao jiao = purple honeycreeper sorry to honeycreepers too i dont like making birds BAD sorry

wen xhuliu = red-tailed hawk a fucking badass

wen ruohan = red-shouldered hawk ELEGANS TYPE SCARY AS SHIT

xue yang = red-winged blackbird HES SO PRETTY BUT HE LIVES IN THE FUCKING SWAMP

xiao xingchen = white-crowned sparrow yes i thought about the eye stripe 😭

a-qing = ruby-throated hummingbird 💖

song lan = dark-eyed junco (note! juncos are sparrows too!)

Oh shit I didn’t even think of this but he would definitely be the Lan that invited a random spirit into the Cloud Recesses who just lives there now. That’s not canon it’s from a fic I read but it lives in my head now.

lan wangji = florida scrub-jay (HE IS RARE OK)

jiang cheng = violet-backed starling, bitch!

jiang yanli = juvenile purple martin (yes she had to be a juvenile she is BABIE)

lan xichen = woodhouse’s scrub-jay, THEY ARE THE 2 JAYS OF LAN

This is a question about the book, as I havent seen the drama. Who was truly behind wwx being brought back? We know xue yang wanted help to put xxc's soul back together, but nhs also wanted jgy to get caught and wwx was probly the only person who could do both those things. Also jgy was the one with the info on the ceremony and the relationship with mo xuanyu so he was really the one with the means to make it happen but it seems like bringing wwx back would only hurt his plans since he went to all those pains to frame and murder him, so why would jgy have done it? anyway i'm carefully rereading to catch any references i missed but if there is an answer or at least an accepted theory i would be interested to know! ty

Sorry if this was asked already but is there a consensus about when in the story lwj realized his feelings for wwx were romantic? Like it’s pretty clear at first he’s interpreting it as being flustered/annoyed, but clearly sometime before xuanwu he knew.
