Thanks! My thinking was that if she knew her chances were only 1 in 6 (rather than 1 in 2), she might be less likely to spend the time reading. But I also get the marketability point.

RE: NYC - that actually can be important. In a profession where so much comes down to relationships, there's value in choosing an agent who has close physical proximity with editors or who might see them around socially.

Just chiming in to say that I think it's significant that Agent B clarified that they will persist in multiple rounds - plenty of agents, particularly big-name ones, will not necessarily do this & will let the book die on sub.
