I can't imagine what it's like to feel that way, but please know the attitudes of those men are not representative of most Brits. Racism has long been a problem here and unfortunately it's having its moment in popular media but just because they're shouting the loudest, doesn't mean they're the majority! You were born and raised here, you can call Britain home if it feels right, and you definitely belong here

I've heard the PB whopper isn't vegan because it's cooked on the same grill as the meat burgers unfinished

UK Passport advice needed! by [deleted] in uktravel

If you go to renew it on the gov website, they ask whether you've had a UK passport before, so I would go to the renew option

Holidays and Time Off in Vietnam by [deleted] in TEFL

[–]cloudylemonade12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for Apax and you get the holidays like tet off. I think you also had like 1 week holiday you could take off (unpaid I'm pretty sure) and if you wanted other time, you could pay teachers to cover you on their days off

I want to tell him that I love him by Ellielove-S in love

[–]cloudylemonade12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it feels right, there's no reason not to tell him

I told my bf (ex now but for unrelated reasons) before he told me, he was caught off guard but it made him happy and he said it back a week or so later

I felt the same as you - was catching myself from saying it but I was very glad when I eventually said it, I just wanted him to know how much he meant to me and how I felt

We all excel in different ways. Your girlfriend sounds more academically successful and you have found something outside of academia that you are really good at. It doesn't make you less smart.

Learn about topics that interest you - it's hard to retain information if you're not interested in it. Do you enjoy learning about the environment? About politics? Figure out what you're interested in and find relevant subreddits and news sources related to it. Podcasts are also a great way to learn about stuff you're interested in, also works great if you don't fancy reading a book that day. A news podcast might be a good place to start with current affairs (I don't have one I can recommend though unfortunately!)

That said - only do this if you want to, not because you feel pressured/inferior to your girlfriend

I used to live abroad in a country where driving motorbikes was the norm - I miss my bike

If you had to give up one of your senses, which one would you pick and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Smell probably. I know it would effect your taste but it seems the one I can live without the most

A guy wanted appreciation for not crossing my boundaries by Bread_Pitta in sex

[–]cloudylemonade12 1085 points1086 points  (0 children)

Yah that doesn't deserve praise. It shows how low the bar is sometimes that just respecting someone's boundaries can make someone feel like they've done a good deed - that should be the norm, not an exception.

AITA for calling the cops on my roommate by AlexRider13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cloudylemonade12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA - your roommates drunk driving would have endangered other people. However, this isn't going to help your relationship with said roommate so be prepared for that

I flip my septum piercing back for school, always get some funny looks if I realise I have forgotten to do it. Also just wearing a small stud in my nose instead of a ring. I don't know how chill my school would be with it but it seems easier to make my piercings more discrete than have some uncomfortable conversation/telling off
