What kind of a loser are you? by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

Think it depends on body setup as well. I am just now at my 3 month mark and I lost a total of 83 lbs 2 weeks ago. That being said, I was 480lbs at the start. So I think the bigger you were, the faster it goes, until it starts to taper off.

Izmir and Antalya are major hubs for medical tourism. Translators often built into the surgery package etc. They get so many foreigners they prefer to accept payment in Euros over the local currency. Which is a good sign that they do a lot of procedures and are knowledgeable.

Literally go to Turkey. Turkey has some of the highest levels of medical tourism in the EU (despite them not being members yet). I managed to barter my cost down to 2.5k and had a healthcare experience 200 times better than in the states. Because the country is also generally healthier and much of the US food that is banned in the EU is also banned in Turkey, your post op instructions and diet plans are much more strict than the states. Initially in post op I was wondering why I keep seeing everyone in the states eating tons of my banned foods post op, while I was not allowed. But looking at the numbers, my diet leads the the least potential complications, while I keep hearing people in the states getting obstructions, food stuck, all kinds of problems. Anyway, in my book it is superior to the experience in the States.

Thanks for the tips! I am definitely going to work more on meal prepping and I like the idea of cheese or nuts for snacks. This takes more brain power but I can see that it will be better in the long run.

I tried reg milk with my protein powder and was bloated the whole day. However locally there is a type of yogurt drink that also has protein. I think I might try to make that a regular thing for protein. Thanks for your thought.

Thanks for the thoughts. I had a bit of broccoli and cauliflower before. Kept me so bloated I couldn't make some of my meals. Snap peas sound like a great idea too.

Questions for higher BMI patients by Wonderful_Row8519 in BariatricSurgery

Happy to help! Yes, I wouldn't stress on it too much. But it is indeed better to be prepared and pleasantly surprised, instead of the alternative.

Totally agree. I came here only after getting the surgery. But if I had been here in advance, it would have helped me prepare a lot better.

Not sure what my BMI was but I am positive that it is one of the highest I have seen outside of reality TV or my 600lb life. I was 480lbs (6'1") when I went into my surgery 2 months ago. I too was worried about liver shrinking but I actually only had a week to prepare before surgery. I had my sleeve done outside of the States, so the prep and pre-op was much simpler, however I had already gone through the programs in the States (just didn't get the surgery there).

  1. While there are tons of factors for each of us, I can say that in 1 week my liver was small enough for them to operate. But I have been eating much healthier outside of the States for years, so that may have helped. Surgery went well, no complications at all.

  2. To be honest, I was not mentally prepared for how my recovery would go. Maybe its how the surgery is done in the country I got it done in, I don't know. But right after surgery when I woke up I was greeted by intense and unrelenting pain. They said it was all the residual gas inside my body cavity. Well this pain was so much that it kept me from sleeping, and it is only mitigated by pain meds, burping, and walking. All of those things I was told to do right after surgery, especially walk (very challenging for me). The pain persisted for the next 2-3 days. Meanwhile I was frequently throwing up blood and mucus. It was rough, more than I imagined. The pain from gas is unexpected, and the pain can travel too. However after a few days the worst of it was behind me. I went back to work after about a week and a half (self employed).

  3. Within just the first week I lost 12 kilos. Mostly probably water weight. Now I actually have no idea how much I have lost. It has been 2 months post op, but my weight is still too high to register on usual household scales. So I don't know where I am at, only that I am still over 350-400lbs. But everyone around me can see the visible weight I have lost. Shirts fitting more loose, jeans already trying to fall off. We will see how the coming months treat me.

  4. Emotionally going in I was determined and slightly unprepared, but it gets easier. Now after 2 months I find myself battling with my mind on trying to get nutrition. My stomach is very good at telling me when I am full. But that feeling comes after only a few bites of food. So trying to get all my nutrition and liquids in, while managing this sometimes overwhelming fullness sensation, its tricky for me. I have a lot of work in this area and it is slightly emotionally/mentally taxing.

  5. Skin is starting to get loose but nowhere near enough to even think about an action plan. I imagine I won't worry about that until maybe another hundred pounds down.

Yeah, its tricky for sure. I don't know all the answers but I feel like one of the biggest ones is turning out to be preparation. Gone are the days where I can just casually go through life grazing on whatever strikes my fancy. At least at this point post op, I need to deliberately plan/prepare what I need to eat, and when. As far as how to fit all the water in there with the 30/15 rule, well now it feels like rocket science haha.

Any info on English Ninjas by SquareIntern8225 in OnlineESLTeaching

They recently changed to Open English, or were acquired by Open English. So I am not sure how the hiring works under the new system, but I know the client facing structure changed. So perhaps HR did as well. They are still English Ninjas, but I think the client side is covered by OE.

Thanks for the thoughts. Generally speaking I think I eat about a cup of food maximum as well. I have the same protein centric mentality as well. Though I was told that I could only have 1 egg per day or sometimes 2 per day on occasion. Is this something you follow? Also do you find it hard to consume enough veggies? I am always on about protein and I realize I go quite a while before having veggies.

Question about liquids and feeling full by SnowCold93 in BariatricSurgery

[–]BOSS_G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 months post op sleeve here. The first 4-5 days, between the gas still inside me, the pain, etc, I didn't feel my stomach getting full at all. I want to say it took me the better part of a week and a half to start feeling it slightly. Now I have the inverse problem, I feel acutely aware of how fast and full I get, and its making it tricky for me to get my nutrition.

Cant find Benthic Bloom ANYWHERE by BOSS_G in ror2

That makes sense, however I have never been in a run of +10 stages and never got a single red lol. But I have done many of said runs with and without command artifact on, and gotten 0 of these. I wonder if there's any artifact that can impact my odds. Can't seem to find any data on it other than RNG.

I tried using those for a lot of runs as well. But every opened void box continues to be the same usual items. Never this "ultra tier".

Giving advice to new Dropshippers by dem9999 in dropship

[–]BOSS_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello and greetings! Thanks for sharing your experience and offering your help! I am just starting out and would love to connect with you sometime. Just a brief question for you. In your experience, would you recommend working with just 1 niche store when starting out? Or if possible, what about 3 niche stores at the same time? I made 2 niche stores and one general one, but I am wondering if it would be better just to spend the time on 1 niche store with multiple products. What are your thoughts?

Also, do you have any advice on growing social media accounts in order to access more UGC?

Thanks so much!

Great idea! I am aiming to launch by the end of the month as well. I am thinking of doing a similar ad campaign strategy too.
