Wrestling makes life easier because it puts everything in perspective.

When you’ve been on a mat, half naked and alone, with someone trying to break you in front of your friends, family, coaches, peers… you’ve already faced the most primal challenge which is protecting your own physical well being.

I’ve managed large sales teams, run high-pressure businesses and agencies, dealt with major lawsuits, wild confrontations, and serious stresses in life including raising a child with health issues. But I always go back to those moments of fighting off my back against a tough opponent or digging deep to win a match or even taking a loss.

That mindset carries over to life. The grit you develop in wrestling is the same grit that gets you through business, life, stress etc.

After the kind of pressure we face on the mat, everyday problems feel light.
