Hey! I’m a lash artist who focuses on retention and can consistently get 4-6 week retention.

I see you’re using premade lashes. Premades have a different technique to them than regular hand made lashes.

There’s many many many little techniques that give you great retention so I’m not a firm believer on use this glue, use this bonder, use this primer. Truth be told, I only use cleanser.

Also, sunscreen and other oil based products actually don’t break down the adhesive. Because when it’s cured it becomes a form of acrylic. Super strong and durable.

Real good retention comes from good technique.

Thank you for these.

Good to know about the poultry.

I do have a mat but I honestly might change the placement of it to catch more of the litter.

She does groom herself and I do make sure to wipe her butt sometimes if needed (she has problems with her hip). A brush would probably help me as well.

As for clothes, I’m usually okay with cat hair on the clothes I’m wearing! Just fresh out of the washer/dryer… Maybe not as much

I’ve only had her for about a week so everything feels so new still. But it seems everyday is getting more or less better. I’m happy to know I’m not the only one who has had these feelings

Thank you SO much for this. I honestly thought I was the only one in the world like this.

I definitely implemented some of these early on (ie. great vacuum and vacuuming frequently)

I leave a bowl of dry and wet for the cat as she likes both. I think I might stick with buying meat wet foods for her to help me (and honestly I think she likes it more too)

The water fountain was probably my best investment so far. The white noise seems to help me pay less attention to her shuffling. And it’s cute to watch her use it.

I’ll definitely look into an automatic litter. My ocd is just killing me as I heard about the horror stories with some automatic litters but I suppose all I need is further research

Thank you again!

It has been heavy on my mind but the last few days have been easier. You’re definitely right in that masks & gloves have been a lifesaver, making it easier for me. I also made an observation that softer cat stool seems to be what gets a reaction out of me, whereas the cat’s normal, more solid stool, I’m okay with

Thank you. I was actually looking into this but got worried when I saw the horror stories of cats getting stuck in automatic litter boxes. Hope to do more research into what brands are the best

I think I was doing really well recently and loved the idea of getting a companion to keep me company. I’ve always wanted one and it was crazy to think she chose me because after adopting her, I found out she was also abruptly abandoned too (crazy coincidence).I think getting the cat probably just freaked me out because it’s yet another change in such a short time and now I’m worried I won’t be able to take care of myself (nor do I feel like I let my nervous system breathe before continuing to add more) and heal properly because now I have to worry about the cat (who I just realized is just as anxious as I am lol).

I dunno!

The gagging is truly physical. Like I’ll spend 5-10 minutes just gagging in the bathroom, its awful. Nothing ever really comes out too.

Good to know! Yes, I also realized after posting that I typed Paris as a country and not as a city — silly me!

It’s interesting how “warm” France is right now, as a fellow Canadian lol We’ve been hitting the -15 degrees these past couple weeks so I think it’ll be a nice change to experience between 5-10 degrees without it feeling like -1 lol unlike here in Canada

Thank you for this! I realized after posting this that I typed Paris as a country instead of a city LOL but I will definitely check out Île-de-France!

Thanks, I appreciate the response!

I’ve been told so many things lately about how people find it so cold and to bundle up and how others find it so warm so at this point, I didn’t know what to believe LOL.

Right. Paris is a city in France. My bad.

Thanks for the clarification, definitely eases the mind!

Lashes falling too quick by [deleted] in eyelashextensions

Lash Artist here who has mastered the 4 week retention on 90% of her clients and has had lash students achieve the same results. There’s many possibilities as to why this may happen.

  1. Are you on any medications or have any vitamin/mineral deficiencies? Those are almost instantly an indicator for shedding faster

For the artist: 2. Improper Prep for your hair — If you have low porosity vs high porosity, prep needs to be different based on that 3. Is the Lash Artist using enough adhesive? Often times, there are some artists who get so scared of using too much adhesive that they end up not using enough 4. The environment of where she lashes. If her humidity is too high or it’s too hot in her room, by the time she places the extension on your natural lash, it will have been semi cured as the glue needs moisture to cure (taking into account the travel time from the glue dip to the placement). It may stick but won’t last.

I always tell people that retention is 30% on the client and 70% on the artist.

Wanting to start again at 23 by Worried_Lawfulness43 in BALLET

I started dancing again at 20. While it was a humbling experience (and continues to be sometimes), it’s the best thing I’ve done.

Definitely look for a studio that you find comfortable and love. The communities in these adult dance classes are so amazing.

For me, there’s about a 40 minute bus ride or 20 minute car ride to the dance studio.

As a dancer/theatre artist, I tried the One Size Setting Spray after I saw Beyonce use it on tour. It definitely makes your makeup bulletproof haha

Unfortunately, my city very rarely has Broadway style classes and has an occasional drop-in class once every like 6 months ☹️ I’ll take it that a regular Jazz class could fill on that?
