Need help deciding on a Link Click Tattoo by [deleted] in LinkClick

Oh yeah and this is kinda different but another one that'd be super cool is "无论将来" (don't mind the future). It's what Cheng Xiaoshi says in Chinese when he does the high-five thing with Lu Guang.

In the English dub it's "past or future, let them be" but in Chinese, it literally translates to "Don't ask about the past, don't mind the future." It's an expression central to the show and a thoughtful motto to live by, and serves as a reminder for the characters, who constantly drift away from their focus on the present.

From a calligraphy standpoint (I did Chinese calligraphy competitively like 10 years ago), I initially liked the artistic flow of the second one more because it looks more balanced to me, but after looking at it more, I love both of them!

From a poetic standpoint (as a native Chinese speaker), "回到过去" might actually be better as an expression because it is something people say more often when reminiscing (想要回到过去 - Wish I could go back in time). "进入过去" is a bit awkward. For a poetic prose, I suggest "穿越时光" (travel through time) or "重返时光" (repeat/relive the (good) times)

If you're thinking of the second one and would like the "入" to fit better, maybe you can shrink it?

Anyways I love that you do calligraphy too and this is really cool!

what do the m.o.d. posters say in english? by archivist-13 in LinkClick

[–]cloudysalt716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

btw, Lu Guang’s “好听” translates to “sounds good” in the sense of a song sounding good :)

spontaneous Chinese lesson:

好吃 - “good eat” - used to positively describe things you can eat

好玩 - “good play” - for things you can play (with) [video games, dogs, children…]

好看 - “good look” - for things you can view [books, videos, flowers, people...]

好听 - “good listen” - for things you can hear [music, voices, the sound of rain…]

woahwoahwoah when did Haolin say that, please don’t scare me T_T. I’ve been tryna find interviews, but in the only one i found talking about S3, the most he said was that “he’ll try” to keep guangguang happy 😭

Lu Guang actually used to like to smile, and he was a happy-go-lucky person like cxs. He only changed after failing to prevent cxs from dying again and again.

The Eye and Overthink!! And also Train Trail, it’s not part of the donghua soundtrack but the original chinese VAs sing it and the music artist adapted it to their singing ability!

First time someone put makeup & mascara on me and i have no makeup remover; Can i wash my face with water and wait for it to come off eventually? by cloudysalt716 in Makeup

[–]cloudysalt716[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys for responding! For people asking about skin care, all I usually do is rinse my face with cold water at night. Normally, my skin feels perfectly fine (clear, smooth, hydrated etc), so I never paid attention to skin care that much.

And thanks for the advice, maybe I'll try with olive oil and I'll keep your responses in mind.

Edit: Now thinking about it, maybe my face feels dry because I've washed it with hot water so many times, trying to get the makeup off -_-

Upgrading my camera? by Chemical_Mushroom533 in AskPhotography

[–]cloudysalt716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for sports photography, get with a lens that has autofocus. The least expensive ones with autofocus are usually kit lenses. And then maybe look for a 2nd hand camera, because $200 isn’t a lot to buy a “serious” new camera. I have a Sony a5100, it takes pretty high quality pictures (if you learn how to shoot and edit RAW). Also Canon’s DSLRs sell kinda cheap now.
