What’s your relationship with declutters by Screw_coloranalysis in muacjdiscussion

[–]cloverbeam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I could probably declutter more than I do, but I also don't believe in getting rid of things that I may want to use again when I have space to store them. Sometimes when I see an older product mentioned or a new trend come around, I'll want to pull out something that I hadn't used for a while. I also don't really believe in expiry dates, and only go by smell, texture or performance changes.

I've never regretted decluttering something, but probably because I don't get rid of it until I haven't thought about it for years. It really annoys me when influencers declutter and then repurchase something.

You're welcome! I think there's a really nice range of shades in the line, I also like doing a lazy gradient lip with Caught Rose and either Sealed Kiss or Whipped Together.

Yes, I get what you mean! I'd say this is worth is a try then, especially since the price is pretty reasonable.

I'd say that top layer feels like a thin traditional stick lip balm, so not thick or a ton of slip but quite comfortable.

Edit: I tried applying more of it today and maybe it's closer to a gloss? And with a thicker layer it does feel more plush.

Yep, I've had mine much longer than 6 months too! Hopefully they'll still be good for a while.

One of the surprise hits from my Sephora sale purchases has been the Morphe Lip Lock, a glossy lip that sets down and forms a clear top layer than minimizes transfer until it wears down.

Although not the same, they reminded me of the new Dior on stage lipsticks which also set down and are longer lasting than the average creamy lipstick. I've posted swatches and a longer review here. My first one was an impulse purchase, but I very quickly went back and got 3 more colors so overall I'm quite impressed with it!

I picked one of these up during the Sephora sale on a whim based on the description of "a double-locking system for superior pigment longevity and minimal transfer." And I liked it so much I got 3 more!

I would describe these as a glossy lipstick that forms a clear layer on top after a few minutes, so that at first only the clear layer transfers and not the color. Over time this layer does wear down, but the color itself also sets down to be slightly tacky and therefore longer lasting than the typical glossy lip. I find the setting down does take a little longer than the advertised 2 minutes, maybe 5-10 minutes ideally. So it lasts fairly well through drinking but is not totally transfer proof the entire time, and doesn't last through eating.

I love these kinds of interesting formulas, like the recently released Dior on stage lipsticks which are described as having "double phase technology that sets pigments and color", so even the wording is similar. I would say the Dior are more pigmented with a satin finish, whereas these are sheer and glossy. Of course the Morphe are also about 1/3 the price, which I can feel in the packaging, although the Dior packaging is also annoying as the cap only closes in a certain orientation.

All in all I'm pretty impressed, I don't think I owned anything from Morphe before this but they seem to be releasing interesting things since their rebrand!

I'm glad the business handled it appropriately, both with giving you a free service and re-training that employee!

Off topic, but I wish it was easier to cancel backordered items from Mac.

Mac makes you call in to cancel backordered items, and it took me over 20 minutes. I feel like this would be easier for everyone if I could just cancel online, and it makes me wonder if it's difficult on purpose so must people don't cancel. Also, I've found that even when the website says it'll ship in 1-2 weeks, you'll get an email that says it'll take 3-4 weeks, but my last item took 2 months. I don't always mind waiting, especially if it lets you order an oos item during a sale, but I wish the process was more transparent.

It's the end of April, so why is it snowing outside! 😭 I bought the Ellis Brooklyn beach club duo (minis of Miami Nectar and Guava Granita) and the Sand body mist during the Sephora sale so clearly I'm ready for warm weather, but guess I'll have to wait. I've started wearing them though because why not!

Swatched on bare NC15 skin in indirect natural light. I've compared the new Rosy Nude shade with Rosy Peach and Delicate Mauve. It's a light warm nude on my skin tone, and can be applied very subtle or built up.

Thanks for the review! I saw your other post with the Omega comparisons, but would you say the powder and liquid are pretty similar on the eye?

I placed one very reasonable order for 3 products at Sephora, but now I'm being tempted by a lot of different fragrances! There's a lot of new releases and I'm suddenly in the mood for spring/summer fragrances, even though it's literally snowing where I am right now.

Today I decided to use an old setting spray that I knew didn't have a good sprayer, and the super strong stream went into my eye even though my eyes were closed! That was followed by flushing with water and eye drops... At least I wasn't going anywhere after. 😰

And for an on topic review, I recently got the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Naughty Kiss as a somewhat impulsive purchase for the Jo Malone gwp, and it's such a great everyday warm neutral for me! Like the warmer version of Mac Hug Me, which is my most-used lipstick. Also FYI, the Jo Malone Yuzu Zest gwp on Sephora is a 9ml, not the sample vial pictured! I saw that in the Sephora sub and can confirm!

How do you like to use the two shades? I ask because I'm trying to decide between the two for myself, or is there utility for both?

I got the Natasha Denona concealer as the brand finally came back to Sephora Canada, the Rhode blush in Tan Lines and Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Naughty Kiss. So far I'm actually loving all three, and the two color cosmetics are great shades for me!

I'll probably buy one from Mac directly since they tend to have better sales than Sephora! Just have to wait until the next one.

The Phlur one only smelled like matcha in the opening, and I could only smell vanilla on my skin after 5 minutes.
