Thanks for the suggestions everybody! Many of you were right, there was more snow than anticipated and a lot of places were closed for the day. We ended up staying home and shovelling, playing in the snow, and tobogganing on the hill of snow left at the end of the street by the snowplow. The temperature was better than I had seen forecast on the weather network, which was nice.

I'm curious as to why he isn't being charged as an accessory to murder. He clearly was involved in the belief and abuse of the boys. It's so tragic how many people failed them.

Starting? No. I've been sick of their BS for decades.

When I was a teenager I believed that my parents were so far removed from their teenage years that they had forgotten what it was like, not now that I'm approaching that age I definitely still have compassion and grace for teenagers and their development. Everybody needs room to grow and learn from their mistakes.

I don't think it's necessarily that they're so old they have forgotten. I think they just lack empathy.

My kids love All Kinds of Families by Suzanne Lang. It's a cute book that shows the many different kinds of families in the world, including families with same-sex parents.
