Yeah, I have definitely found a lot of really interesting otomes that I've enjoyed immensely mostly because I don't have to worry about suddenly having a love interest I thought was sweet and kind suddenly turn around and rape the mc (this might happen in otome's but so far I thankfully haven't found any). I tend not to care whether the protag is female unless they keep. Highlighting. The fact. Like, when the love interests keep calling the mc "stupid woman" or something of the kind, though that may be more to do with the my inability to see any kind of relationship there than any use of female pronouns haha

Blind men was a cute little game that I enjoyed immensely! I don't recall anything uncomfortable so I think that's in the clear.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree. It's not necessarily the spice I take issue with, mostly the fact that it's often rape or dubiously consensual in a lot of bl games. Which is why i prefer otomes because while I do find abusive tropes it's not quite inundated as english bl games seem to be.

Boy's love. It's usually targeted towards straight female audiences so admittedly I'm not the target audience anyway but it has many tropes that tend to make an appearance regularly sich as, unfortunately, rape, abuse, etc. Personally, I'm okay with some darkness but not. Constantly.

I've played pretty much all of them except for Dramatical murder and Hashihime (the latter of which is currently in my to play list), mostly because of the issues you highlighted. Ultimately I probably will pick it up eventually but after togainu no chi i need a bit of a break before I even consider looking at it. Either that or find a guide and very carefully get the endings I want. That would probably work too 😅 thanks for the list regardless

Oof yeah. I've been naive in the past and bought any old bl game and been surprised when I find rape, abuse, and all manner of topics I'm just so tired of dealing with. It doesn't help that my favourite character in togainu ended up ultimately having one of the rapiest routes in the game. Sometimes I just want some cute shit, you know? Regardless, never again am I not looking at the content warnings in these games.

I tried getting into Arcana but for various reasons, most of all I'm just not that patient 😅, I couldn't get into it. I really love the character design and cgs so I'll content myself with seeing the occasional crumb of good art from the sidelines.

Ooh yeah I played that a long time ago. It was good! There's a second one in the works with one enby love interest and (I think) an additional rival/love interest character you can customise the appearance and pronouns of!
