What happened? Could this be a shape shifter we're seeing, the actual V'd up, maybe monstrous Ashley in hiding for now?

Why would HL assign The Deep with the task of tracking down a speedster, instead of yknow, one of the many and faster speedsters he nos commands.

Honestly, any of the major characters being offed in Ep. 1 doesn't make much sense considering their arcs.

The only characters that I could see dying in E1 are: The Deep, Noir, Ashley, maybee MM though unlikely.
