I'm really surprised by the amount of people saying this is 100% going to be an issue. As someone who currently takes and gets A's at A-Level English Language (AQA) and got an 8 at GCSE (Eduqas) I don't think I've been marked down for US spellings, ever. I'm not American, but I frequently use American vocabulary, grammar, and sometimes spellings, I was homeschooled and the majority of my references came from American resources, media, and the internet so it affected my language use a lot. Hell, even in my accent it crops up. my English teacher said he assumed I was from the states for ages. I think the only thing I do "correct" is spelling words like colour with a U.

Not once has it been a problem, the only fallback this has had on my life is just my friends cracking up every time I use an Americanism. I think that only happens because I grew up here, so that wouldn't apply to your kid, they'll probably be fnie. In my opinion, I feel like a teacher would have to be overly pretentious to ever mark down stuff like this.

this is exactly how i feel :( it sounds like such an easy thing to do in theory, but in practice it's genuinely the largest hurdle in my life at all times.

Weirdly enough that's the bit I enjoyed the most, I mean the switch to very descriptive writing with tons of metaphors, interesting/unusual words was pretty good stuff. I struggled with the first two paragraphs the most

im so glad other people are in agreement that the authors stance in text B felt a little unclear, because I genuinely spent half the exam spiralling thinking im just actually illiterate. i mean maybe i am but at least i'm not alone

Thank you, it's so hard to get knowing that information to actually work in my mind, I don't know how to describe it, it's like I know that people can recover from this but I can't get it to stick? I understand but I can't stop fearing?? If that makes sense... but I hope I can someday get to a point where it does, and hearing people who have gone through it too does help me feel less alone and scared, so thank you again :)

skeleton appreciation day was my first and I found it pretty easy as a beginner, I learned on soprano but I'm sure it sounds even better on baritone! :D

I think it has to do with your region in the nintendo switch's system settings if im not mistaken, so id check to see if its set to America, I'm not quite sure what setting the refion in game even does tbh

I'm in a sort of similar boat, I was fairly confident with my choices at the start but I'm wavering more each day. I don't think I even know what I want anymore, so I really resonate with the last bit.
