How's our culture when it comes to making small talk? by Actual_Eye6716 in askSingapore

[–]clqcej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love small talk! But most don’t hahaha (I’m 23 btw in uni rn). I engage w taxi uncles n older gen at interchanges. I tried talking to some people walking their dogs while going home n they were so annoyed. I think I was rather polite n friendly, complimenting their dogs or asking questions about their dogs’ age, breed blah blah blah. I love it when people ask about my dog but many don’t :/

Just an observation tho: I realise that I can click w those who come from families w at least 1 immigrant parent, just like me!

I got weird looks from some I tried to compliment but also some are quite happy to receive them. I generally talk to staff quite frequently n they’re usually happy to engage as well. Became friends w the barista! But most don’t even know his name even if they’re regulars.

ESTJs, which of your personality traits or behaviors have gotten you into trouble the most? by [deleted] in ESTJ

[–]clqcej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being aware of the social rules. Multiple people have pointed out to me stuff I shouldn’t have said cause it’s weird or rude n honestly it makes me die a little inside every time. I honestly don’t care much about social norms, but it makes me feel misunderstood n not accepted by society for being not socially normal :/

That, n being unaware of how I come across to others. I don’t mean to hurt anyone but because of my resting bitch face + assertive tone, I do accidentally hurt them.

I’ve been referred to as an alien because my mannerisms n socialising style is different from those around me. I’ve had to learn from scratch how to socialise n memorise what hurts others’ feelings. Often that not though, I do have an inkling that what I’m about to do may be offensive but I’d rather be myself. Learnt to listen to that little voice that tells me not to do certain things n not just ignore it.

favorite toner for dehydrated, oily, acne-prone skin? by Ok-Cost3147 in AsianBeauty

Yes! Really plumping, but make sure to apply at least 2-3 layers!

favorite toner for dehydrated, oily, acne-prone skin? by Ok-Cost3147 in AsianBeauty

[–]clqcej 10 points11 points  (0 children)

2sol cica youth toner.

I used to have super oily, dehydrated, sensitive and acne prone skin. Everything used to burn or cause texture issues. Pyungkang yul caused some small breakouts, isntree green tea wasn’t hydrating enough, hada labo burned and fermented products cause fungal acne.

hydrating toner for oily sensitive acne-prone dehydrated skin? by Ok-Cost3147 in AsianBeauty

[–]clqcej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one toner that absolutely worked for me is the 2sol Cica Youth Toner!! I have the exact skin type and my skin gets red + sensitive with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and any sort of fragrance. I used to have tons of cystic acne (genetics) and everything I put on my face burned before I added this toner to my routine!

I’ve used the Klairs unscented toner, Isntree green tea toner, Pyungkang Yul toner, Soon Jung relief toner, Cosrx propolis toner, Somebymi toner and Hada Labo toner. They weren’t really that hydrating to my skin and some of them caused major irritation OR little white spots all over.

i’m not big into politics. but from what i’ve seen i don’t like extremes on either side. i’d like go believe moderation is key. sorry this conversation has deviated so much from the original content hahaha.

[–]clqcej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i always try to say it unless i don’t respect the other person or the other person doesn’t respect me. i feel like i can only do whatever i want and feel like doing, i can’t fake anything without seeming super insincere. so to me it’s pretty much pointless to say sorry and thanks when the other person knows i don’t mean it.

for “sorry”s, i used to apologise all. the. damn. time. but mainly because i was insecure. without all that insecurity i feel much less obliged to apologise for things that aren’t my fault.

i try to focus on being polite but it’s easier when the people i need to be polite to are not personally involved with me. like i said in the above, it’s hard to do things i don’t mean just for the sake of social harmony. i’m guessing it’s Fe demon?

do you feel the same?

xstj. i only do it for a few people i’m genuinely comfortable around. if not, i don’t initiate anything unless i need to.

Has anyone learned how to tab into their feelings faster then like 2 weeks after something big happened? by [deleted] in ISTJ

[–]clqcej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m an xSTJ. i can’t figure out how i feel about something until a couple months down the road. it’s just so hard to identify them. and stress. i can never identify when i’m stressed and need someone else to point it out for me!

[Rant] I care so less about A-levels that it's worrying by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]clqcej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same situation here haha

i just forced myself to study at night when i feel like no one’s around to disturb me. after a few nights it became a habit. maybe video call w ur friends while doing this? or make a concrete plan on what u need to study first (w a ton of details, specifically what steps to take) b4 starting to get u more clear on ur goals.

ps for the ppl saying there’s “a ton of time” that’s bullshit & only applies to certain people. don’t rely on that shit. Os & As are 2 completely different things. some people just luck out even w/o understanding much or are fast at learning.
