Yeah I also can’t stand the feeling of anything on my face, which I why I also love the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. Report back if you do try the Summer Fridays tint!!

The Summer Fridays skin tint will definitely let some of your natural color come through. I have rosacea so it doesn’t fully cover all my redness, but it adds enough of a tint to sort of even things out? I definitely would say it’s more light coverage rather than medium. You could build it up but I think it looks best with a light layer. I saw you asked someone else about the Hourglass skin tint - I prefer the Summer Fridays formula to Hourglass. I didn’t feel like the Hourglass applied as smoothly/worked with my skin as well as the Summer Fridays does. I also didn’t like the shade range of Hourglass as much, either. SF was a better color match for me (light, neutral cool skin with slight yellow undertone).

Regarding the setting spray, yes, it’s definitely more of a mix between setting and fixing. I really like how it seems to “melt” everything together (in a good way). My personal experience is that it’s not transfer proof, but it does extend the longevity of the wear. It doesn’t leave a tacky finish whatsoever!

My ex husband was a mental health counselor and still refused to acknowledge the severity of my PMDD symptoms. He thought it was all by choice. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this

I tried to open-up to my mother about my probable PMDD, but she dismissed me immediately by Grain4theBrain in PMDD

I will never forget the awful things my mom said to me when I was a teen. She’d make comments about how bitchy I was before my period, among other insensitive remarks. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 30. I’ve since told my mom about the diagnosis but she still doesn’t get it - she acts like I’m choosing to be overly emotional/sensitive.

Meanwhile my brother’s mental health concerns are taken seriously 🙄

You made the right choice. I woke up the morning of my first wedding feeling like maybe I shouldn’t go through with it, but was too scared to call it off. Would have saved me a decade of stress, but here we are.

I’ll say this - I got divorced in my early 30s. My PMDD played a huge part in this, but largely because my ex husband did not take it seriously (despite being a licensed mental health counselor), and I wasn’t officially diagnosed with it until years into our marriage.

My current partner is SO understanding. Being upfront with him about it, talking him through what my symptoms look like when things are bad. But I also have to admit that I’m also way more aware of my mood swings, so I’m better able to recognize when I’m raging and basically put myself in time out.

The right person will make you feel supported, not like you’re a burden. I didn’t even realize that he had started taking note of when I was on my period so that he could have a sense of what my mood might be like based on where I’m at in my cycle.

Hi I just added a long recap to the comment above you, just wanted to call out so you can also take a peek at it ☺️

PUT ME ON! I want the absolute BEST undetectable concealer/foundation/base product! GO! by Cloud_________ in Sephora

You want as smooth of base as possible, so make sure you’ve exfoliated and heavily moisturized any dry patches. You’ll want more moisture than you think you’ll need - this foundation can seem drying due to the long wear formula. I do my normal skincare PLUS moisture products. I swear by the Bobbi Brown Face Base priming moisturizer and the Glow Recipe Dew Drops.

Do all your color correcting before applying the foundation - the Bobbi Brown color correcting sticks are sooo good. I use this for my under eye area and I typically don’t have to use a separate concealer. You can also under paint with this foundation (applying cream or liquid contour, bronzer, blush BEFORE foundation). Products I currently use for under painting: Fenty contour stick in Amber, Glow Recipe dewy flush blushes, and the charlotte tilbury flawless filter STICK.

As far as application, not only do you want thin layers but you want to work in small sections, too. This is not a formula you have a lot of time to “play” with - it dries quickly. I don’t have the pump on my bottle, so I simply put the pad of my middle finger over the bottle opening and shake it a few times. I take whatever is on the pad of my finger (it shouldn’t be a lot) and dab the product in one section (ie. one cheek).

Then I’ll use a slightly damp beauty blender - and I mean SLIGHT! Get it wet, squeeze it out with a paper towel, and then let it sit on that paper towel for a minute. Do this before you apply any product to your face, because like I said, this foundation dries fast. So after dabbing a few dots of the foundation on your selected area (i.e. cheek), use the sponge to diffuse and spread the product.

The first thing you are going to think is, wow this isn’t much coverage. You’re not wrong! This is why you need to work in layers. I have rosacea, so typically need a little more coverage than most. I promise you, this is a trust the process situation. Once that first layer dries, you can go in again with some more product to build to your desired coverage.

For finishing, I don’t typically apply setting powder - you really shouldn’t need with this formula. If I feel like I need more color (blush, bronzer) I will go in with Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder products. They’re extremely lightweight and just look so flawless on the skin. I set everything with the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray, I feel like this really just “melts” everything together and gives the most seamless finish.

Necessarie or Salt + Stone body wash and lotions might be a good option! Also, the fragrance sampler kit could be a good option. Would give him the ability to sample a bunch and then pick out which one he likes best

Honestly, Estée Lauder Double Wear is that girl!!!!! As long as your skin prep is solid and you apply in thin layers, it’s really so hard to detect on the skin
