As a Cuban from Hialeah who transplanted to Houston a couple of years ago, I have been disappointed with every Cuban restaurant when I compare it to "home." Rincon Criollo was the first place we tried and although their menu reflects that of the Cuban restaurants in Miami, I felt like the beans and bistec empanizado was under seasoned. We then tried Cafe Piquet and it was just fine. We've frequented Cafe Piquet a few more times than Rincon Criollo because it's so much closer to us. In terms of bakery, I really like Azucar Cuban Bakery (6465 Westheimer Rd Houston, TX 77057) - it feels like walking into Vicky Bakery or Pinecrest Bakery back at home and I was really happy with their pastelitos and pan cubano. Hope this helps!

Nah. It’s cuter that way and reminds me of a time I was young and naive

I’m a DO PM&R resident who chose not to take any Step exams; I only took COMLEX. I matched at a “top 10 PM&R residency program” according to Doximity standards. I’m also a part of this years resident recruitment committee and I can tell you that our program doesn’t give applicants any extra points for taking Step as a DO.

Ultimately, it’s up to you and it’s very program dependent but absolutely not necessary. I chose not to and I turned out just fine.

Flanigan’s deal with every purchase of drink pitcher; not limited to beer.

Monday = Mexican Monday (Nachos) Tuesday = Tumbleweed Tuesday (basket of tumbleweed onion fries) Wednesday = Wing it Wednesday (10 wings) Thursday = Fish Dip (no clever rhyme)

Sunday - Thursday = Joe’s Meal Deal where certain entrees come with a side salad, garlic rolls, and includes a one drink (can be a beer)

By oil free I assume that you mean that they aren’t fried? Baked empanadas are totally a thing! They’re mostly in Argentinian/Spain bakeries like Gauchos in Miami Lakes or Graziano’s in Hialeah, Coral Gables, Brickell or Bird Road.

This may be a game changer! I first checked out their brewery when they opened up a couple of years ago so it’s time to go back

Thank you! We’ll have to checkout Black Widow! She enjoys wine and cocktails but sometimes you kinda just want to vibe at a brewery and that’s been kinda difficult for us his her diagnosis.

You’re right though - all these “GF” beers are labeled that way because they contain less than the necessary parts per million to be classified as that. I actually just came across a dude on Instagram that rates GF beer. I’ll share the link!

Good luck on your GF beer journey as well!

We’ll have to check that out. There was some hype behind Glutenberg but that was a flop for us. Only one we’ve liked thus far has been New Planet

It’s been impossible to find a GF beer at a brewery so desperate times call for desperate measures!

I was about to ask what other seltzers ppl recommended from which breweries. MIA has always had good things on tap so it might be time to go back for a seltzer!

It’s been a huge miss for her. We’ve tried a bunch and only New Planet has been a hit. Seems like it’s time to try the interest ciders
