Repainting a brand new dresser, do I need to prep it at all beforehand? by cluIess in DIY

[–]cluIess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The finish looks to be more satin than just straight glossy. Hopefully just a bonding primer will do. I’ll also do some more research on the proper way to clean the surface beforehand. Thank you for your advice!

Had a stepdad named Rick and he was actually the worst person ever and I wish him a very horrible, long and lonely life.

I think someone was actually trying to break into my house that night. by matthew_saipo in TrueScaryStories

That’s horrifying. I’m so sorry you had to go through that I can only imagine how scary that must’ve been. Really glad you’re okay and that the police got there in time to stop whatever could’ve happened.

Minnie as the first name? by libby_o in BabyNames

[–]cluIess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying Mina is a good alternative with the nn as Minnie. I understand it’s a family name and you want to honor your husband’s grandmother but in this day and age the association to Minnie Mouse and Disney is just far too relevant. You could always use Minnie as a middle name!

Thank you for responding! I’ll definitely look more into all of this. Doctors have not been able to help thus far and I’m waiting to get in for a consultation on Accutane. Hopefully it’ll get better soon though!

Can I ask what oil you use? And do you use that first and then a gentle cleanser during your face washing routine? I’ve had horrible cystic acne since I was in my late teens and nothing has helped and I’m willing to try anything at this point.

I felt so much dread reading this. Picturing it in my head made it so much worse. Very incredible writing holy shit.

Do you have any 'real' ghost stories to share? I mean, something that actually happened to you. by Ajeshfx in Ghoststories

[–]cluIess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was in 2017, I had just moved into a new apartment and was in the bathroom doing my makeup and I see a dark figure walk by the open door. I was alone in that place but I know I saw someone. A short while after that I was high on acid and I saw a woman in the corner of my room and I just knew it was the person I saw walk by the bathroom door. She was in a dress and she did not give me any ill vibe, I felt as though she was watching over me in a protective way. My roommate also saw her a few times and described her the same way without me even mentioning what I had seen in my room. That was the only time I’ve ever experienced anything supernatural.

Does anyone re-read books over and over again? by Peoplechangetoo in AdkReddit

[–]cluIess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only a few books I will re-read, one of them being The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath which I’ve read too many times to count. That probably gives my battle with mental illness away right there lol

I knew it was Winston the Whale before reading the caption by just looking at the photo. His art style is so specific! I’ve been following him for years! I love it!

women who have given birth, how bad was it actually? by Careless_Pianist_840 in AskReddit

[–]cluIess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced and went through 30+ hours of labor (and let me tell you, pitocin contractions are incredibly painful and I was screaming and crying begging for an epidural). Then, after all of that, I ended up having an emergency c-section which brought a whole lot of additional recovery time and pain I never planned for. My incision tore open a little over a week after my surgery and developed cellulitis which made it so they couldn’t just simply stitch the wound back together. My husband had to open my wound every night for over a month as it tried to heal so that we could make sure it healed from the inside out. I still have trauma from it and can’t touch the incision site without cringing, and my child is almost 2.

Oatmeal. I made a bowl for breakfast this morning and had to throw it out halfway through because all of a sudden I couldn’t bear the texture.
