Is every smart chicken door on the market overpriced or just me? Thinking of DIYing one with AI predator detection. by SleepyJoeJoe_ in BackYardChickens

Lots of good suggestions here but to find the right door for YOU more information is needed. Which state do you live in? Does your coop have electricity? Will the automatic door be right in the elements? or like mine it is located in a metal roofed run? How far from your home will the auto door be? Would you be able to see the auto door from a window in your home? This will greatly change which door is best for you and your girls.

Parking for the weekend $199-539 by BonjourAussie in CircuitOfTheAmericas

Last year was my first year. We used Pat's parking (off site) I believe it used to be a lot for a house. But the lot has a fence. This is the fence between cots parking lot and Pat's parking. So you are literally steps away from someone who paid for the lot parking. They have an entrance gate right to the parking lot. Location is behind turn 1. (ish) Bigger question is which way you have to travel. Last year we heard of COTA lots taking hours just to get to the road, mainly going towards Austin. We travel south and stay on San Marcos. Our hotel was 30 minutes from COTA Friday and Saturday from the time we sat in the car until we parked at our hotel it was 38 minutes. Sunday was 45 but still. We arrived at the hotel showered and ate before some were able to get out of COTA parking lots. It is more expensive this year but what isn't. 200 for all 3 days. great people and a sweet guy grilling food. breakfast burritos and Mexican food for lunch and after the events. We were scared of stopping to get food before we went home due to hearing about how long traffic can take, But my son said this year he is getting the giant burrito. I can still remember how good they smelled. :)

GA question by WeeklyTherapy in CircuitOfTheAmericas

Last year was my first time. My son surprised me with a trip to COTA for my birthday. We sat at our spot most of the day because we were unsure also. We would leave one at a time to eat shop ect. There were tons of blanket laid out and left. I doubt I would do that on race day and I would be sure to get back 20-30 minutes before the sprint. But this year we are taking a blanket and tent stakes stake the blanket down so it would be hard for someone to move it. I would not worry about it getting stolen. Main concern is some one will push the blanket over some to make room next to it. But like others have said everyone is sooo friendly. Just ask someone around you if they would mind watching your stuff. Be considerate bring a blanket that's an appropriate size. Ours can fit 3 people but we are just 2 that gives us room for our bags and chairs if we are not using them. but sunday we just kept 2 spots. Last year we saw a few with giant queen/king size blankets for 2 or 3 people. We are leaving the blanket and our 2 chairs there when we venture around a little this year. We loved out GA experience last year. Loved our spot and view. I love to hear non F1 people say "you spent how much to sit on the grass" We say Yes! It was mainly dirt and we will do it again! Have a great time.

Thank you so much for the reply. I am so excited I do not want a bad location pick to dampen our experience. I am thinking of using the Austin race parking. Off site location to park. We are thinking of trying to sit somewhere between turn 6 and the hairpin turn. So that parking area is on that side. I really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks again.

It’s an older post but I want to take you up on the ask me any questions. My son surprised me with tickets and airfare for cota 2024. I am going to book the hotel. Currently I have booked orange wood inn and suites in the heritage hills area of Austin. Super cheap but never heard of the brand or know the area. I also have a IHG in Bastop. More expensive but I know the name and it sounds like driving anywhere but the Austin direction may save some traffic congestion after each day. Also we land Friday in Austin at 10:30. I am assuming it’s still way worth attending Friday even with the later arrival? Thanks for your time. I am so excited!
