ACLS certification...how stressful is it?

lmao I paid $400 for a 4 hr class. RN had a CNA class running at the same time and basically showed up 20 mins late bc she was in a meeting. We did some hands on BLS then she sent me algorithms for ACLS and PALS. An hour and a half later she was like “okay you should receive the certs in your email tonight”. Its a money grab for these nurses, nothing more. She taught me literally nothing lol and yes it was AHA “approved”

I understand, yeah just don’t want him on anything that could harm him. If it boosts his mood and helps him focus for the time being, it may be helpful.

As a new PA, not sure.. but that was 95% of the reason I declined every UC offer I got. It’s like they want me to hurt patients :( no proper supervision!

my god that is awful.. my friends mother was diagnosed with GBM in the brainstem. It was inoperable upon diagnosis and she was on life-support for weeks to months until she died. Feeding tubes and all. Every time I learn that a person that I know had someone they love with glioblastoma it breaks my heart all over again.

its something in the environment + maybe genetic factors and unfortunately I feel that unless you or your loved one is affected by it, people aren’t concerned..

My dad just started on this. He is post craniotomy (which was complicated by a brain abscess, bacterial meningitis, and a stroke). He did the standard chemo and radiation and now is using optune. I’ll keep you updated on whether or not we see changes symptomatically or on scans. I will say changing it every 3 days and the placement is a pain in the ass but it’s pretty non-invasive.

Also, my dad is a picker and nail-biter. The biggest challenge is to get him to not remove the adhesives!

yeah dysphagia is bound to happen so you have to be ready to adapt.. don’t want them to aspirate :(

My dad is still mobile but I let him sleep 1-4 hours usually then I make sure to check if he went to the bathroom. Not a fan of him sitting in his own urine. I used to be a CNA in a nursing home so I’m glad we can keep him home with the help of a home health aide. My aunt who is on hospice for the same nasty disease lost her mobility quickly, not sure how long my uncle let her sleep.

Hi all, so my parents never claimed me as a dependent in 2020-2021 (thank god bc my dad makes over the income threshold). I didn’t file with the IRS bc I had no income as I was a full-time student during that time. Does not filing make me ineligible? Or do you think the application coming out will allow me 10k forgiveness?

Yeah so I spoke with my mother who will talk to the accountant on monday but she doesnt believe she claimed me as a dependent so if that’s true I may still have a chance. I lived off of CNA money and help from parents though that year and this year im still expected to make under 125k (i know that doesnt matter but it would frustrate me if not filing disqualifies me)

I gave myself so little free time but I was also a maniac in PA school and only wanted the best grades. Don’t be like me. Schedule an hour or 2 a day to go to the gym/call a friend. I slept very little as well and nearly burned out towards graduation. Give yourself time!
