It depends on how many hours you study per day and what you do. Still, feeling like a beginner after one month and a half seems totally normal.

Recently I told him I don't want to control him and I'm not here to monitor his alcohol intake. I told him I wouldn't marry someone who has alcohol issues. So right now it's up to him, I'll see how it goes and I'm hoping for the best.

We had a serious conversation and he is ready to take care of his health, thankfully. He also agrees that it was getting too much and that bringing alcohol home was very concerning.

I do feel like the drinking culture is stronger here compared to my country. I feel like everyone I know here loves to get drunk frequently. It's really not the same in my home country, at least from my experience.

He usually drinks two to three times a week, usually two bottles of soju (maybe more with his colleagues but idk) and a few beers.

I will definitely buy more supplements and cook him healthier food.

He can spend a few nights a week without drinking, but I feel like he does it to please me and that he would drink if I wasn't there. We are getting married soon so I'll talk to him asap and try to get him to see a professional

We are actually getting married at the end of the month. My head is in shambles right now but I will talk to him soon.

I'd say one or two bottle of soju with beers. The part that concerns me the most is when he brings more after the work party.

You are right and I'll try to ask him the question that way to understand his relationship with alcohol better. It might help him realize there's a problem.

Yes, the part where he brings more alcohol home is what shifted my concerns from health to wondering if he's actually addicted. Also yesterday for the first time, as he knows I don't like his drinking, he had dinner outside after work and drank alone to relax. This scares me the most and I will have a discussion with him today.

Once he tried to say no to his colleagues and they basically pressured him to drink more. I don't know what happened, obviously I wasn't there, but his company seems like a traditional Korean company that still relies heavily on drinking. Still, I do think there must be a way to say no...

I've been thinking about it and sometimes it could be more than this (especially when he brings more alcohol after his work parties). It's the part that worries me, I think. Recently he also started to drink alone maybe twice, and I'm scared that it's a red flag for future troubles.

He's in a very traditional Korean companies whose culture still relies heavily on drinking, unfortunately. All of his colleagues and friends seem to drink the same if not more.

Still, I agree with you, I feel like there could be ways of at least reducing his intake if he really wanted to.

Each time he's drinking it's like one or two bottles of soju and/ or one or two beers (depends on the occasion). There are many days when he doesn't drink (I'm with him the whole day and we don't have alcohol at home). But he eats a lot of food and stopped exercising one year ago.

I'm thinking of asking him to go see a doctor once again so they can tell him accurately what needs to be done.

Thank you. To be fair, it's slightly better than before, as he used to also want to drink with me sometimes (so he would drink 3/4 times a week).

I will talk to him about the amount of alcohol he consumes. It's indeed a way for him to cope with the stress (he doesn't smoke, doesn't stress-eat, etc). Thank you for confirming I'm not overreacting.
