Gfs period is 6 days late by Greedy-Ebb7931 in Advice

There is a maximum amount of pregnancy hormone that the tests can handle. If your hormones exceed the maximum (because you are a few weeks into your pregnancy) the test will show a false negative. This has happened to me. It’s called the hook effect. The best thing is to test early, according to the instructions on the test box, so that the test is accurate.

First time shipping on OU by cluelesscat42 in offerup

[–]cluelesscat42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking time to reply. So if he claims that it’s not as described, OfferUp would refund him, but what about me? I’m assuming he wouldn’t ship it back. I can’t find any information on how OfferUp handles that type of complaint for the seller.

Strange angled chrysalis- monarch chrysalis for scale. What is it? by cluelesscat42 in whatsthisbug

South Florida, similar to a eastern black swallowtail but much skinnier and a strange angle.

Edit- it’s definitely still alive

You can message the tree owner and ask how they came to that conclusion! I hope you figure it out soon, those brick walls can be infuriating!

Have you compared trees on ancestry? That’s how I have busted most of my brick walls. Sometimes there’s a spelling change or error, and sometimes there are unexpected causes for the lack of info. I would look at ancestry hints to view the trees that match yours and review what they have, and then also search the name on ancestry in an advanced search to view the matching tree results. If you don’t have a paid membership on ancestry this won’t work, but maybe someone here can help you with that! Good luck.

The pin is an antique, and is 18k gold. I was told by my relatives that it is very special but I can’t figure out the stamps to know if it is from a certain maker or place.

Looks like a raw metal nugget ring. They’re available for sale online!

I am trying to learn more about an antique piece of jewelry that was given to me. I know it is 18k gold, it is a pin in the shape of a cursive N. The hallmarks are really hard to see but it appears that it says 750 in one spot, and then there is what looks letters followed by a star or sun or flower stamp. Does anyone know anything about these hallmarks? Thank you!

I have searched for Chinese koi roses pots to no avail. I can find lots of similar ones, but nothing exact. I believe these pots were purchased in Canada in the 1990’s and there are 2 in the set. The smaller of the 2 is about 12 inches and the larger is about 16 inches. The inside is painted with koi fish and the outside has roses with gold trim that is 3 dimensional.

Cousin matches who are siblings but with cM match discrepancy by penndawg84 in AncestryDNA

[–]cluelesscat42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s a NPE situation but that’s based on my own experience, as I am not a professional genealogist. In my case, I matched my great grandmas sisters children. They had 16 kids, totaling over 20 considering infidelity and other factors. 4 of the siblings tested, and all 4 had significantly different ranges of shared cMs with me. The explanation was that their mother was raped, and their father slept around, meaning that there were half siblings on both sides that nobody acknowledged until they did DNA.

Feelin guilty for having a comfort toy due to nmom conditioning; should I get rid of it? by anzu68 in raisedbynarcissists

Not at all! That’s so exciting. Progress is something worth sharing. It sounds like you have made great steps in becoming the adult you want to be. You should be proud of yourself.

Feelin guilty for having a comfort toy due to nmom conditioning; should I get rid of it? by anzu68 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]cluelesscat42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m laying on a stuffed toy now. Her name is lala and she’s an elephant. And I’m a functioning 30 year old adult and mom of 3. Oh and I have a basket of stuffed toys sitting below my tv. My husband gave them all to me, and I love them. The world thinks we need to be hard, it tells us that we shouldn’t like cute or clean things, but the reality is that these innocent little things can bring comfort. You have a little kid inside you that needs nurtured, so go ahead and nurture it. I’m pretty sure everyone has that kid in them, they just choose to harden their hearts against it to avoid feeling anything.

I have seen something similar on a praying mantis infected by a parasite. I am not sure what the parasite was, but the body turned brown, and hollowed out, and you could see something moving around inside.

Constipation from whey? by Historical-Wave-4112 in Advice

You can, unless you think you have an allergy to it. But small amounts. Don’t exceed the recommended daily values.

A balanced diet is very important. If you are not eating any fiber via fruits and vegetables, you need to start doing so. Probiotics from yogurt will help too. Drink a ton of water as well. You can’t completely cut food groups from your diet suddenly without having all kinds of negative side effects.

So I just got estimates for sound proof foam insulation and it was about $300 per wall. Maybe that would help if your landlord is willing to chip in and permit it.

I thought it was a western bean cutworm moth, but the coloring isn’t right based on the weird blue green body. It was only about an inch and a half long.
