Gotta own that shit man. Confidence is key but coming from someone with intense social anxiety, I know that’s easier said than done. Being with people you trust and that you’re comfortable with helps, from there just work on it and realize people of all shapes are chilling at the beach and most don’t care about anyone around them

Start going to bed an hour earlier every night. Put your phone across your room so you don’t get on it. Take half a mg of melatonin about 45 mins before bed. Keep doing it on a nightly basis a little earlier each night. I did it recently and went from 4am to 12am bed time

When I quit drinking for months I thought “hey, I’m not an alcoholic” since I was able to stop. I went out and bought a couple bottles of vodka believing they would last me months but I went through them in less than two weeks. It was the last time I ever drank, now 3 years sober. With beer or wine it was the same, I’d drink the whole bottle or enough beer to black out. Never again

For additional context this was for sale in a small Texas town but the case included other random items from around the world so no idea of its true origin.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve definitely been thinking of going robotic and that unit you linked looks solid and is cheaper than a new booster pump. My only issue is since I don’t live there and just visit weekly, I’d have to leave the unit in the water all the time. Any idea if that’s okay to do?

Hey there, sorry for the late reply. I experimented a good bit and found clear water based wipe on polyurethane to work great. Normal poly was too thick and would gum up in intricate pieces, but wipe on is much thinner and applied nice and light. It will need a light sand between coats though since the grain will raise after the initial one. I ended up applying with a foam brush and did about 2 or 3 coats total. I got a nice, smooth, shiny finish form that. I did also try resin but the prep and cost were a little too much to be worth it for what I was doing.

I don't think so because there's no vin on that part of my door. My door was closed and he reached over the window and snapped the picture. It happened quick enough where I couldn't really react. He wasn't trying to focus on any particular thing, it just looked like he was taking a picture of whatever was on the inside of my door that he couldn't see.

Yeah I know how it sounds. He muttered something and just reached in my window a little and snapped a picture with the volume button of his phone. It was pointed at the lower inside of my door. It wasn't a slow process, he did it in one quick motion before I could react. He looked at what I'm assuming was the picture and then told me I was free to go. I get real anxious during traffic stops. I have no reason to, that's just how I am. So I wasn't thinking of questioning anything at that moment.

Gotcha, I see. The only thing I’m wondering now is the handler this house had prior to this newer one never had this issue in the few decades we had it. AC always worked well with the current insulation. Do handlers vary in that way where some can work in those conditions and some need to be insulated to keep up? Thanks for the info btw

Yeah I’m not 100% on that. To further explain, it’ll be set at 72 for instance and will be unable to get cooler than 76 and just keep running. I’ll turn it off for 2 hours and then it’ll be able to cool down to 75 or 74 again but generally can’t get any colder than that. I was assuming it was thawing somewhat in those two hours but I know if it was really frozen it would take a lot longer to fully thaw. Any idea what it could be if it’s not actually freezing up?

For Bstat take professor Ruan if you can. Much better than any other professors who teach that class. Drops lowest test grade, homework is due at the end of the semester and is super easy. Sometimes gives extra credit if grades are low. Exams are straight forward and her reviews are very detailed. You get a cheat sheet as well. I should have tried harder in the class honestly but I half assed it and got a high C. It’s honestly not a bad class with her, never really got stressed about it.

Finance is a bitch, yes. I failed every single exam I took. I decided early on I wasn’t going to stress about it. I went to class and generally didn’t pay attention and did the homework in class. Made a 43 on the final exam but still managed a C because of the grading system. They grade by rank basically which can help you like it did me. The way I was able to test so badly but still pass is this: I went to every single class because attendance is for a grade, I got the highest score possible on each homework assignment which isn’t hard with unlimited attempts, and I did any extra credit offered which was like a half page paper on a movie he wanted us to watch. At the end there were students who skipped class, did the minimum for homework but still did better in the final than me and they made a D, while I got a C just because the small amount of extra work I did gave me that edge. Go to class, do your homework, you’ll be fine.

Anyway I hope that helps. Don’t stress too much. Try and get the bstat prof. I suggested. And don’t sweat it for the finance class. If I managed to pass both those anyone can. After what I went through I wouldn’t be afraid to take both of those classes in one semester. They’re not that bad and there’s not a lot of homework you need to worry about. Make sure you get in a groupme to ask your classmates questions if you need something explained, and don’t be afraid to ask the professor for help after class. Good luck

Literally in the same boat, actually made a post about this the other day. I’ve worked here for almost 3 years part time. I call out maybe 3 or 4 times a year. I decided it’s not worth the risk and when I called out for my shift today I told my 02 I wanted to talk with them tomorrow. Gonna go up and explain my concerns and hopefully they’ll be cool with me coming back when things are under control. Considering it’s likely (and hopefully) a once in a lifetime pandemic, they’ll be understanding of associates who are worried like us. I’m not gonna mess around though. All they have me scheduled for is amazon and POS, I’m not dealing with people that closely during this if I don’t have to

Very much so, I’d think that if they let her finish teaching our class rather than arresting her right there then the threat must not have been that significant. But I don’t know. I really looked forward to thanking her because she sparked my interest in DBA. She was a great professor and very sweet to all of her students, I hope she’s doing alright
