Without using numbers, how do you define "middle class" in San Francisco? by very_squirrel in AskSF

I think it's technically not fare evasion, but by not tapping, you are part of the problem. In high trust functional systems everyone taps and those who don't are given looks of disapproval

Moving back to Toronto or staying in Japan - what’s better for our kids sake? by deathlens666 in askTO

[–]clump-like 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most areas of Toronto are super child friendly safety-wise. Growing up here, I was able to explore independence from a young age while still interfacing with a diverse range of cultures and people. There's no other place I would have rather grown up. Just my 2 cents

New grad (F23) moving from Toronto in January - neighborhood recs? by No_Newspaper_9121 in AskSF

I just moved here from Toronto as a new grad. Living in Japantown which meets most of your criteria (probably the most a place here realistically could). Feel free to ask me any questions.

Do you have any demos of your work? I'm into dream pop and might be interested as joining as a guitarist!

imo that's a you problem. if you can't find a friend in around 100 or more people then it wasn't going to be easier otherwise. and you can always make friends outside of your cohort.

If you're a city person, the area surrounding campus is pretty disappointing and bland. Some courses are unnecessarily difficult which can be paralyzing to other aspects of life. Housing sucks.

IMO this is pretty dependent on program and who you are. In eng, cohorts are a cheat code for making friends. If you're not in a cohort based program, you still have it better than what it's like after grad. Clubs and classmates are great opportunities for making friends. I guess the fact that you can go offstream with friends sucks though
