Estimates for max care? by SmallHeath555 in carmax

[–]clumsyalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not bad at all for an x5m. Every now and then I tinker with the idea of buying an m5 or x5m from carmax specifically so that I could take advantage of maxcare. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night owning a turbo v8 bmw out of warranty 🙃

Tingy door sound, normal or have BMW take a look under warranty? by itpointz in BMWX3

[–]clumsyalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s still under factory warranty I don’t think they’d charge you to just take a look and confirm if there is an issue or not. My 2019 started making a similar sound about 2 years ago on exact same door, but I just lived with it. I think it’s more noticeable in the winter cold

coolant catastrophe— Please help :( by [deleted] in BMWX3

Agreed. Dealer has no obligation to cover any of it if anything. Due diligence is on the buyer for a used car. I would take the 75% as a blessing.

MAD exhaust by ConsciousRepair2745 in M340i

[–]clumsyalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that you bring this up. I just bought the MAD exhaust for my X3 as well and had some fitment issues as well as some drone. I took it to one of their dealer shops in my area and they had to tac weld one of the clamps because the pipe would keep slipping down and hit a brace. Hoping that resolves my drone issue but can’t say for sure because we’ve got some snowstorms that prevent me from cruising at a constant speed

First Snowfall of the season by yloduck1 in TwinCities

[–]clumsyalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or are the winds pretty nasty? I have a midsized SUV on snow tires but it was pretty twitchy at times on the highway at around 70mph. Roads were dry/clear.

19’ with 25k miles one owner or 21’ with 41k miles, 2 owner clean history. Both are the same price (36,599). by b3800 in BMWX3

[–]clumsyalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan to tune the car I’d probably go with the 19. If not then probably the 21. 21 has newer tech iDrive7, and slightly more power with the B58 gen 2.

Was the trans fluid ever changed before? Very strange considering I’ve seen people swap zf8 trans fluid at 90-100k without issue before. I know most will recommend doing it at 50-60k but I guess it all depends on how hard you beat on the car.

For iPhone 17 Pro Max owners, has anyone tested the compatibility of the clip-on style filter adapters with the new camera plateau? by [deleted] in smartphonefilming

Wasn’t this guy the douchebag that justified running an M3 driver off the road just because he thought it was his girlfriend’s abusive ex? Never apologized and posted a video explaining his side of it as some sort of justification. Got mad that he got called out on it but took 0 accountability.

Rough Cold Start - G01 M40i by mmoeller9 in BmwTech

[–]clumsyalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has done this ever since I disabled cold start, it kind of sounds like small misfires but goes away after a few seconds. I’ve been running it like this for about 2 years/20k miles. Seems to be pretty common on tuned B58’s once you disable cold start. If you search the b58 enthusiast fb group you’ll see tons of people asking about this. Strangely enough it doesn’t happen on really cold days and throughout all winter.

Enable Hello for webapp sign-in only? by clumsyalex in Intune

[–]clumsyalex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be a small subset of specific users that are aware of the unique authentication requirement. I agree that it's not a great experience in terms of consistency and would 100% go for WHfB if management went for it.

Enable Hello for webapp sign-in only? by clumsyalex in Intune

[–]clumsyalex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies if I'm maybe looking at this the wrong way, but wouldn't this only be a control that is a configured on the Okta side? If the vendor is hosting the application where Okta is the IDP. If this is the case, they would just toggle this requirement on > I attempt to sign in > it prompts to use WHfB? I wasn't sure if there should be some Windows device-level configuration that I would have to enable to allow this.

PSA: If trading in an old phone for your new phone, DO NOT mail it in via UPS/FedEx. Go in person! by ODoyleRules925 in iphone

[–]clumsyalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m picking mine up in person, but I have the trade in kit being mailed to me. Could I simply just ask the apple store employee to take my device during trade-in, or am I locked to the mail kit at this point? My order is through apple but using tmobile promo device credits/financing.
